Its time to get feral based on peoples responses to this film from early screenings & i kind of dont expect anything else. Its time to see what version as a teen did Emerald read of Wuthering Heights & if it live up to the long promo of hype which seems to have been going on for at least 6 months.

So my cinema changed my screen, it was meant to be screen 1 but a bulb blew so they moved us to screen 3. For the first time in my life i was in the back row, like what the hell. But it was as close to my seat in the other screening as possible, load of people were separated from friends as well & people were being like can people move. Staff had to turn up to sort some people out. Which was weird for a cinema of mainly women. Also we had a full 30mins of trailers & adverts & a group of 4 arrived 10mins into the bloody film, im sorry youve arrived 40mins late urgh.

Trailers, Scream (nope) How to make a killing (advanced screening booked) the bride (yes) Project Hail Mary (yes) & there was one more but i cant think of it at all was it charlie xcx i think it might have been.

& then the film started… I have soft fan fics that i have written that are sexier than that.

There was a really hot bit, when he laid on top of her & covered her mouth in the barn to keep her quiet & still while the sex happened below them that she was spying on. But it never got to that hight of sexual tension or fearless again. I gulped when she let out for air. But even the affair montage wasnt all that good, yes there were moments & that rock is now going to be famous, but i was expecting after saltburn for this to dial it up to 11 but i think if saltburn was a person theyd be like is this it?

I am not sure we needed the BDSM bit of the film. Now im guessing that wasnt quite like that in the book lets be honest, but it totally took me out of the story & reminded me i was watching a work of fiction from another fiction & that i wasnt as invested in it in the way i should have been.

Was it me or was some of the time jumps weird, some bits felt like they took years but it was only days & then some were so fast & it was like 6 months had past. It was not the best paced film.

Martin Clunes as Margots dad, now i was not expecting that at all. What a surprise & he did an amazing job.

Jacob in this was hotter before he got rich in this. He was & the second he came back he became irritating & uperty & i wasnt attracted to him at all. So that could be why some of the film didnt work for me. Were all meant to thirst over him. This this is the first time where a man has worn a suit & ive been like actually no thanks.

Also isnt she meant to be really young in this? Im not saying Margot is to old but they didnt make her look younger at the earlier stages when she became her. Like im a similar name to her & i love that she & Jacob were good together but they were both meant to be like 23 may the time the story is over, that works for him but not her. Im sorry.

The score & songs Charlie did were really good. It did help you realise this was going to be intense at points, but the film never got to the high of act 1. The costumes were stunning as well & so were all those rooms in that bloody house (another creepy dolls house for us all to look at in a film its going to be this years trope).

When we got to act 3 honestly i was getting bored. I wanted to be grabbed & be overloaded & i was just sat there thinking are we done yet? It wasnt keeping me entertained in the way it had promised me too. I mean we can all lie in bed for weeks cant we.

Her other love interest only ever loved her, even when he knew shiz was going down, he still tried.

This film & its advertising & stance promised something hot feral & sexy that would be shocking, but it was not that & i feel really let down we didnt get this at all. There were a few select moments to make it alright but at no point was i given the romp or sexual tension i had been promised.
