Cineworld are currently showing all of the mission impossible films this november. So a chance of me going to see my fave of the lot once again on the big screen was too good an opportunity to turn down, im here on a saturday night ready to sit on the edge of my seat as after multiple viewings im still not sure they actually will do this mission.
While waiting to go in there was a dad & his son (about 13) & the woman doing the tickets said back again to them & the dad went yea he wanted to get into them so were doing all of them on the big screen. Im pretty sure the kid was the person who gasped at the phone hand over scene. IT was half full, i was very impressed.
Trailers included the Running man, wicked & marty supreme but i know there were 2 more i just cant remember them. My bad
& then the film started… oh god… (here is my detailed fall out review) This is going to be a short review
So obviously this is one of my favourite act 3s in all of cinema. I have always been rather passionate about it. But i could feel my heart pounding as i sat there watching it again in the big screen. but then i got home & looked at my fit bit for that day. Watching it with the score & the screen & feel around me made my heart leap so much so that my fitbit almost sent me a notification for danger. Yea thats how incredible it is. & to this day im still not sure that they complete it. When the screen turned white i was like oh god no… but they did it. Im still shocked.
I basically need to thank this film a lot. It made me appreciate Tom Cruise. It gave me lots of past watching to do & it gave me one of my top 20 films of all time. When i first went to see this back in the day, i had no idea i would be watching one of the greatest films ever made. Its a travesty looking back now that i only put this 6th on my list of the films for that year. It really is.
It really has twists constantly. It has a score built around the theme tune thats iconic. The chases are full on especially through paris & london. Tom doesnt miss a beat.
But this film is more really about a found family & friends & what you will do for those you care about no matter what the cost. This is not just an action movie or apart of a franchise, this is about the build & how everything links & how this means Tom can go forward to save cinema. Its truly indescribable.
Its funny as well. There are several moments that happen where you laugh at bits, maybe its because ive seen it so many times but it just makes me chuckle at points.
the whole room did go ouch out loud collectively when he broke his ankle.
Yea when i saw this back in 2018 i didnt realise this would be the best ever mission impossible film & that i would binge this during covid & be sitting here all these years later a huge cruise fan who cried when he got his honour oscar a couple of weeks ago. Funny how one random choice to go to the cinema can change your life isnt it.
