I have a new film to review for you all courtesy of netflix & mnf being shite.

Yep we are in July we are edging near the country reopening & cinemas coming back… TENET!!!!!!!!!!!!! (not overly excited no no way, hehehehe). But to fill my void Netflix have the new Will Ferrell Eurovision film. I bloody love Eurovision so this had better hit the spot. Wills last few films havent so im really hoping this is a proper popcorn snuggly funny film.

Unlike most Sofa Viewer films this won’t get a synopsis or mini plot review, as it only came out on friday. I want to give you all a chance to watch it before i properly talk about it. Then in a few weeks i’ll rewatch it & give you all what you want. So see this as a mini revival of cinema club light.

First note is that you have to be a fan of Eurovision to enjoy this film or at least have watched it. If you havent you wont get it at all. There are so many eurovision things that happen or go on which is so what does happen at the show that if you have no idea about the contest you will go yeah that would never happen. Trust me it does. Its madness & its spectacular.

Some of the cameos are epic. When one of them turned up i did genuinely go yes thats my girl & was soooooooo happy she was in it. The busker actually melted my heart too.

As much as the film is Will & Rachel’s story (they are both good & its a return to form for Ferrell {not Anchorman but nothing can be that but you get me}) but someone does steel the show. DAN STEVENS NOT IN PERIOD COSTUME IS A MOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously i bloody adore his performance & is one i think people will talk about for years to come. I want a sequel based on Alex & where he goes on tour after its all gone on. Thats what i want to see.

The costumes are amazing like you look at them & you just go yep eurovision thats cool.

I know that its a comedy & things are meant to go wrong, but even though what goes wrong in this film is so far fetched, it could still happen at eurovision.

Bloody Elves (i love you though).

all the new songs that were written for the film were brilliant & so in with everything. Well Done to whoever wrote all of them, stunning. Properly summed everything up.

There are somethings the film gets wrong though which as a eurovision fan isnt good. 7 people on a stage, nope no way 6 maximum. Commentating during the song, nope. The scoring in the semi final, incorrect. There are more but the main one is that we the UK won eurovision the year before the film was set to host it… that is not happening again. We could send Harry Styles & Adele & we wouldnt even get on the top half of the scoreboard.

Huge shout out to home, when it started with Abba performing at the dome. Always pride in that happening here. We got to be apart of history.

Basically if you like Eurovision & comedy & want to jst sit back & smile this film if for you. I had a bloody good time watching it & i think you all will too. Haters gonna hate, but those haters also probably actually hate eurovision as well so this film isnt for them.

I want a sequel with just Dan Stevens, please sort it out peoples.
