Often i sit here & go i have waited a long time for this film. However with Coyote VS ACME its been a labour. This film should not exist. Warner Brothers should have deleted it for tax reason, like they did bat girl. But no we all kicked off, we argued & clambered for this & people went on protests & someone even dressed up as him. Now today its out. We get it a whole week before America & i genuinely cant wait to see this, if the reviews are anything to go by.

One thing that has irritated me about this is its deemed a “KIDS FILM” because its the loony toons & animation & also because its on during the school holidays its on at kid friendly times. Therefore my only chance to see it was 5pm on a friday as we finish early. There has not been one evening screening of it anywhere i know. So how many people were in my screening for this…17. Was there any children? NOPE! All Gen X & millennials. The true target audience.

Trailers, unfortunately all for kids films, cat in the hat, the forgotten town, hexed & shaun of the sheep which we did all go yay at. You will be happy to know that someone also booed when it said harry potter was going to be in cinemas too.

& then the film started… It was never going to be perfect but it was almost there.

BEEP BEEP! Its official now. Its not MEEP MEEP! Weve been getting it wrong for years. However there is a point where Road Runner starts speaking in morse code & i am not going to lie, everyone in my screening went awwwwwwwwwww at that moment. It made me well up. Not cry but it proved the time old story like Batman & Joker. There is no Coyote without Road Runner & the other ways round. It was the perfect moment in a film which is whacky & over the top & makes no sense at time. The moment was only maybe 90 seconds long but it changed everything.

The 3D style worked really well. Especially putting Coyote in the real world. It still made sure there were exclusive cartoon parts but Coyote in court didnt look out of place if that make sense. You just treated him like any other human in the film just he was mute & had a limited number of bloody signs. They did at points show some of the original cartoons as flashbacks & it was honouring the past really well. It never forgot its roots.

I watch wrestling. I am of the John Cena generation of Fans & i can confirm that this film has the best Heel John Cena of them all & its not even close. Youve all seen online his interrogation of Tweety Bird. Thats just he type of the ice berg. Hes not the best actor he knows this but this, its pretty damn good for him.

We dont just see Road Runner & Coyote in this film we see a few other toons as well who are used cleverly, a few have split second cameos where they are hilarious or to prove something. Some are for al little bit longer, i mean one of them is a member of bloody congress. Taz has an interesting part too. Its not all bug bunny or daffy though, its more than just the big names.

If you know me & my film reviewing you know i love me a Legal or courtroom drama & this didnt entirely dumb it down at points it just delivered enough of it to make you forget for a few seconds that it was a loony toons movie.

It did at times take a little bit to long to get to a certain point. Yes a blowing up of something or a piano dropping is funny but for the 5th time maybe less so. It still got a few sniggers the 5th time, im guessing with kids in the screening it might have got more but it didnt. It was also extremely farfetched in a few things it wanted to achieve & i was like hang on movie stay in your lane for a minute. For example giving you niece a legal job to support her was a bit cliché. Weve done this dozens of times before, its a bit much.

The whole try & fail to then get a win is such a prominent theme to this film for so many reasons. & the greatest moment of that is in the opening when Coyote looks on in disbelief as he touched Road Runner beak. after donkeys years, he finally did it. Ok its not capturing him but the gasps in the room said all you needed to without a word, just a well placed score & boing sound.

I now know why warner brothers wanted this gone. I really do. They saw the message about corrupt companies & how they are in it for profits & dont care about the little guys. They clearly just went oh here take this money make a toons movie & then watched it & went we need an excuse not to show this as it calls us out. So i would like to thank the guy in the suit protesting, the person at warner brothers who leaked it was getting scrapped & lost their job, for ketchup for saving it & for everyone in the film community online going no release it we want to see it. If it had been completely crap i understand going nope to it, but its not its so much better than that. Warner Brothers are going to have a lot of questions thrown at them. They need to take a long hard look at themselves. Not every film you make is going to make $1bil or be dune part 2 but what you need to understand is that there will always be an audience for you art, it might not be million but it will be enough.

This is not perfect this film no way. But it is funny, full of heart & soul & a real pleasure to watch. I left my screening feeling happy & glad it finally got onto the big screen. This really is proof that sometimes as the little guys we might lose but when we win its glorious. Please go support this & prove cinema needs saving to those big wigs. You will have an epic time.





Now i dont usually do this but i just want to let you all know that this little film not only has broken the internet, but is now actually making a profit. We won peoples. Well done. I am bloody proud of you. Also fuck you warner brothers for wanting to scrap this. The little guy won.
