Im off work, noones home, ive got time to catch up on my netflix wish list, so im going to watch Enola Holmes. I love me some Sherlock so this should be very very good.

Once again this will be done like a cinema club review, to give you all a chance to watch it.

I know its a film about Enola & her story, but why promise us a new cool version a sherlock with a female voice & then basically have her be a younger version of all the other popular versions of modern sherlock in one go. I mean Millie is good but she was drawing from Cumberbatch, Downey & Miller in a miss match. & it was trying to nod to too many versions. If shed have been given this in about 3 years time with more experience she would have nailed it.

We also didnt have enough Holmes, Mycroft or Lestrade to make you think ah its a kinda sherlock thing, when it did happen you went oh yeah its sherlock & then it did that for all of 3minuted then stopped. IT was a bit all over the place with that.

I felt like we built relationships which we were meant to warm to in some places but werent actually made to care about that relationship until about an hour later into the film. & then some relationships that you think we arent going to need this why are we bothering, & then you needed to be really paying attention to something so small. I guess that is a sherlock trait but it really felt lost in amongst everything else.

The riddles are very good & clever, i liked playing along with them.

Helena was a waste of talent if im honest. What she does is good but its no where near enough.

The school was very random & weird. I didnt like that.

The actually real plot was good but there were so many sub plots & other storys going on that you just sat there going hang on whats going on which part am i in. Again focusing on one part of the film & then leaping straight to else where. There was too much to it.

Basically this film is a little bit all over the place trying to be too many versions of already well loved sherlocks, but it needed to be on its own. Netflix went for the safe option & it hasnt revitalised or brought new life to the storys. Its just added something average & okayish which makes you realise how good the other ones are.
