I had no plans for tonight. This evening i had kept free. My sister was supposed to be moving house but shes not, so when i saw there was the new Nic Cage Vampire movie i was like ahh that will do & then a friends txt to see if i had seen it yet. So me & my friends went to the local cinema to see it. Which means i had to pay. Its okay though.

Please replace your seats in screen 1 The Dome please they are still uncomfortable, its not nice.

For opening night it wasnt that busy, which upset me a little. How dare it. Each row had about 4 people in but it wasnt all the rows. Id say it was 25 to 60 year olds but mainly millennials. I did see someone showing someone older than them the Cage Meme( its actually Javi G but you know).

Trailers Air ( weird because ive seen it) The Evil dead( nope) Guardians (yes) & Fast X (yes) Right interesting batch of films.

& then the film started… Well that was a lot lot lot more fun than that had any right to be.

There was one point in this film that my bestie who was sitting next to me almost choked on her slushy she was laughing so much. Yea i laughed a lot. There were some jokes just played out straight away after a slight mention of them & there were some that were a slow burn for sure, but oh boy they worked they really really did work & yea. I laughed a lot.

We missed some vampire lore, im afraid to say. What we got they did well, but there were points where i was like well if you dont do vampire movies or know about them this doesnt make sense or actually that wouldnt work based on these 3 things ive seen about this before. Which was a shame. & when he was invited in it was like oh for fuck sake nooooooooooo.

Cage was good. I liked the fact that he only popped up when he was needed really, that was good. But his chemistry with Holt was amazing & it really worked. I mean its not him & Pedro oh no, but it worked well as Dracula & Renfield. I liked their relationship.

Some of the set pieces were insane & were so well choreographed & styled. I mean were not talking like John Wick ooooh no, but damn it some of it was insane & so fun & clever. All im gonna say is stabbing someone with someone else’s dismembered limbs. That was crazy but i loved it. IT was bloody when it had to be especially with the bodies he got to eat & take out.

The group therapy, i loved. It was so good & would be what happened & it was actually nice to see a really human light side to a film all about killing & vampires. I loved those guys they just worked so well. Whenever we got to a moment with them in the film i was like yes i need these guys. I also like how he want to these things to help get revenge for them without them realising, that was sweet.

There was some very clever foreshadowing in this film as to how certain characters were either going to die or survive & it was subtle at point. Much like with the jokes, when it paid off it did work.

The mafia drug organisation was funny, but i didnt actually care about them. I get we has to have a conflict in there but it just felt a little too forced at times. They were a bit of a distraction for sure & it didnt really need it if im honest.

The police were more a hindrance as well. We all knew where that was going to go, but it took a little bit to long to get there, it did.

The film did deliver exactly what i wanted it to. I laughed & i had fun & it stopped before it outstayed its welcome, which it was almost at the point of doing. 93 minutes of laughing & joy. Definitely a friday night with friends & a couple of drinks film for sure. You cant go wrong with this film. Me & my friends had a blast.
