Since Thursdsay all everyone has said is that this has been snubbed at the oscars, seriously its all ive heard. So im actually going to spent £2 & petrol & go to crawley as neither of my local cinemas or my cineworld in brighton are showing this. So honestly i had no other choice (pun completely intended)
Does crawley cineworld only have imax & screen 4? seriously they have been the only screenings i have been in recently. This was also almost full for my 2:40 screening. Proper mix of ages too. Also please Crawley cineworld sort out your car park please.
Trailers, if i had legs, the secret agent, is this thing on, crime 101 & the history of sound. Yea thats awards season set of trailers if i had ever seen one.
& then the film started… i can see why people are upset about this.
We all got to believe in our own affirmations from time to time. Okay yes this is a little bit extreme at points like dont kill potential co-workers & colleagues but still maybe sometimes they do work.
It does ask the questions how far would you go to get a job & support those that you love in life. Its a very clever question, but is one that does make you think deeply. Think about it we spend time at work to provide for ourselves & loved ones but at the end of the day we all are apart of a machine grinding out in life in whatever job you have * can be replaced in days & weeks by others or technology.
The language barrier did mean that some of the jokes which were read where met with mild chuckles. I do sometimes think subtitles do leave out some sarcasm or feeling for certain foreign language films. Im not saying i dont want them all dubbed over oh god no. But when its quite fast with jokes & sarcasm like this one, some of the context is missed unfortunatly.
The deaths were all very clever & good & were refreshing at time. A couple were quite visually comical to make you laugh, no matter where you were from. Like how many gloves did that man have on.
I always say this with foreign language films where theres no big name in it. IT makes it more believable as you dont know who everyone is & makes it more believable. It makes the acting more real at times.
Every single person believed him… like seriously? not one person thought actually. I mean its a clever reveal that isnt a reveal that some people find out but the rest of them, they have no idea at all.
If you own a greenhouse, i am now very very suspicious of you.
Who did they name first the kids or the pets? Seriously why? That felt lazy… unless thats a part of korean culture i know nothing about & maybe they are protectors, if someone could let me know if it is, id appreciate it.
Why was his dads gun north korean? did he defect? no one told us about that or is there more to this as well.
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww Snakes! Go away! Although that did get a big laugh?
The barn dance thing which wasnt a barn dance that was good i liked that.
Always drink responsibly & never drink & drive peoples & try not to drink on a school night.
I can see why some people are upset that this was subbed, but as someone whos still not seen the secret agent yet, i cant decide if it is or isnt worthy of that spot. I enjoyed the film but i think i would have given it more praise is there was a dubbed version to get a few more of the jokes i missed.
