A long time ago in a galaxy far far away which was 1 February 2023… i went to see the advanced screening of Missing at Cineworld & was really shocked that its release date was then April. Now it is opening day at the cinema for this film at the end of April & im like nah we need to choose this film out a bit more. Its also been nearly 3 months since my advanced preview so i am here for this film & to show you all what an amazing movie this is. & yes im going to try & find the movie within the movie here. yes i am…
Theres about 15 other people with me in screen 7 of my cineworld on opening day. I get it this is a niche movie yo umay not understand it, but i was at least hoping for about 40 people, which has made me feel a little bit sad if im honest.
Trailers, Guaridans (yes) Evil Dead(nope) Beau is Afriad (yes) Oppenheimer (100% why are we still askign about this) & big geroge foreman(interesting) yea a right old bunch that all is…
& then the film started… If you want to read my first Cinema club review of missing heres the link for it. Because this will be a short review, becuase its still Fucking epic.
So much is given away at the start of the film its insane. Like oh my god. Everything is there written out for you. Its just brilliant & you have no idea until you have your second viewing. I know they show you bits later on that link to it but darn it, some of it is hiding in plain sight for you all to see.
The hidden film i was busy looking at the notes & coments & things on the side of the screen & the pages & then one thing happened & i got engrossed in the actual film again & wasnt easter egg hunting. I just got wrapped back up in the movie, which is a really really good thing to happen.
I didnt mention this last time i wrote about it but i loved how it was a daughter this time hunting for the person & doing everything, & not the parent. It shows everyone cares when others go missing or disapear. It not just the parents. It also shows how someone who is more social media savy uses this to help with the case.
I love the guy who helps her to find her mum, he is brilliant. & he actually is the start of the show, as much as shes the lead, his relationship with her, is what she need & the breakdown of it at one point, its really sad.
When Heather first appeared i was like oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh, but i cant say anything else without spoiling it.
Basically this film is imense & fucking intense, & just a brilliant thing to watch. If you dont enjoy this film, then i feel very very sorry for you because this & searching are some of the most underrated films to ever be made & more people need to watch them. Please go find this when its on streaming please please do. You wont regret it, i promise you.
