Its time to go to Infinity & Beyond… yep Lightyear time. I am so looking forward to this. Out of the way kids this is not for you. I am ready to laugh smile & cry at the latest Pixar offering. Bring on the Space Rangers.

8:30pm showing means in theory less kids, this wasnt a kid free film unlike some of the other films i have been to which are kids recently, however there wasnt one insight. It was full of millennials like me, except one group where it was 5 millennials & 4 of there parents because let be honest they took there millennials to see Toy Story in 1995 didnt they & they have been on the journey too. Id say about 30 people in the screening.

Trailers unfortunately even tho it was 8:30pm on a tuesday & there wasnt a child in sight, we still had to watch trailers for kids film & advert for them too (the lego one was not helpful {someone actually went dont show us that we have no self control}hehe) but kids trailers we had Strange World which is the next disney film which im sure had Jake Gyllenhaal in it (maybe) The Railway Children (maybe depends) Super pets (probably yes to the rock) & minions (yes i will go see the minions got a problem with that).

& then finally the film started… It was good, it was really really good, i wonder if kids really liked it.

So Andy went & saw this film in 1995 & wanted a Buzz Lightyear & all that stuff, i mean i get that 100%. As the girl whos just spent £44.00 on a lego Mandalorian head i completely get it. However i went to see this film & i wanted a SOX. SOX IS ADORABLE & SO SWEET & I LOVED HIM! If you leave the cinema & dont want a SOX then i feel sorry for you. He steals the show so much. I love him.

Chris was good as Buzz. Considering that is a big mantel to take on. There are some moments when you hear him speak the iconic line especially to his mission log or to star command, & you just think ahhh is that Tim. He channelled him at points, which he had to do. But there were some moments where goofy Chris came through & some face movements & reactions that were animated where you were just like yes that is Evans. He did an amazing job taking on the mantel.

So a rare thing happened. I watched a Pixar film… & i didnt cry… I know im shocked two. There were two bits that were really really sad & i was like oh god where it pulled at the heart strings but i didnt cry at all. Pixar did you fail me there… well no actually. In 1995 animated kids films did have an emotional core but didnt actually make you cry if that makes sense. So if this is the film Andy saw back then that makes sense.

To all the country’s & people who moan about the same sex relationship & the kiss, what is your problem. Its literally such a small part of the film, but its real life & modern life. I dont know why its such a big deal. The fact im writing about this is just like why am i. Its completely normal. Leave them alone & in Pride months of all months (altho its not Pride month here we host the biggest Pride Party in the world here in August, its the best one too). Tell real stories cinema which reflect real life, including LGBTQ+.

Taikas voice is always just like yes mate wooohooo. His side pen Story was hilarious. Thats one of the most Taika things to ever happen. Viago would be happy with that. & im glad it was so useful as well at the end.

The animation was lush as usual. I loved the interiors of the different ships & how the world evolved. But the trying to get hyper light speed & colour sequences were the most magical & amazing. I loved them & they were definitely the things that inspired Andy, for sure. So colourful & the score behind them was beautiful too.

A sandwich with one slice of bread… i want in… please…

Some really good life lessons for kids about not always completing your goals & accepting failure & how to deal with it when it doesnt work out either. Also how to not be alone & ask for help from those around you & to inspire others to reach their potential as well. I loved that. The film nailed all of those life lessons. Also a good life lesson on letting go of the past.

Whale Call…

I think i was too busy watching the film & enjoying it as an actual film, that i missed a lot of Pixar easter eggs, maybe a second watch is needed again soon.

Also huge shout out to Time Peake being the voice of mission control woohoo, that was very nice. Local Spaceman done good. Not many people can type that they have a local space man can they.

This isnt the best Pixar film, but lets be honest we cant all be Up, Soul & the Original Toy Story can we. But its better than a few of them & fits well on its own & as apart of the Toy Story Canon. I lived my childhood memories again as an adult & Toy Story & Buzz Lightyear are still important to me now.

Well worth a watch peoples as an adult, someone please take your kids & tell me if they liked it, id love to know.
