its here the end of the saga, its all coming to a head right here & now. Lets see if i got all this right when i first saw Force Awakens…. fingers crossed
So as its star wars we are doing things differently. We have gone as a family of 5 to the little independent cinema just around the corner from my sister which is called the Orion. Its got to little screens that hold about 120 people in each & they basically have 2 films that they show 4 times a day. Its really sweet & homely in there. The chairs are comfortable unlike the Domes large screen down stairs ( im sorry local cinema but they are) & it wasnt to hot or cold & you had lots of leg room & places under your seat to store random stuff. I was thoroughly impressed. Safe to say small cinema at a good price it was sold out.
Trailers we had 1917, Cats & something else but i cant remember sorry. Local adverts as well were a nice touch.
& then the film started… & i’d just like to say i called it, both things back when we awoke the force… so ha
I would say dont read the critics, however i am a film blogger & critic so that means dont read this. Basically, i really really enjoyed & cant wait to see it again in a week or so’s time when its died down a little. It covered a lot of what i wanted to know & then some.
Some of the cameos of people we knew were in it were good, & some of the cameos of people we didnt know were in it were even better, some broadening into the epic section. I know. That one got me that most. If you get that well done, if not come back to me once youve watched it.
A couple of twists which were very mucha oh really then thats cool & interesting & a few which were a bit really but it allowed the story to keep going & move at a good pace. lots of my questions were answered but there will a few that i had & a few more that i have to now as JJ & George. Some of the stuff we spent time on in previous films, now didnt need an answer as much.
Theres always a weird part in any star wars film that makes you go he thats weird & this one had that too. I mean it wasnt so weird in terms of some of the stuff they have pulled previously but still bit odd.
Some of the cinematography locations & shots were just beautiful & you just sat there going yeah this is what the big screen is for this is star wars baby.
There were a few moment when bit & stuff happened where i wanted to jump up in the air screaming yes but just sat there fist bumping instead in joy & going go on yesssss.
Big films like this often also tease you with the trailers & those set pieces so you will see it & Then its not in the film, however everything teased including that tie fighter bit were not fakes they stood firm & were in the film & werent just cannon fodder. They werent easter eggs to piss us off trying to hunt for either, although i recon theres a fuck ton to find.
We also need to talk about Adam Driver quickly, what a performance & Arc. Seriously he had to deal with all that over three films & just nailed every single second of it. Wow.
So thats it the majority of the loose ends are tied up. We have said goodbye to the Skywalkers. Now what do i do?
Thank you JJ for this film & for breathing new life into the saga. This is spectacular, & is something you should all go see. I may not have cried at it, but it was a heart very heavy when i had to say goodbye.
The Force Will Be With You Always… But Please Come To The Darkside We Have Cookies.
