Bank holiday tradition to watch a film after family bonding.

The time has also come for a man to pick up his Oscar at long last the second greatest actor to ever live (behind Tom Hanks obviously) Leo takes on a bear the cold & Tom Hardy to win his award & by god he does it. Possibly the greatest performance of the teenies I don’t think it will be matched by anyone it truly is stunning. It kind of makes you glad that he didn’t win it before & that he won it for such an outstanding show. He deserves it so much & im very happy he now has one. My 8 year old self would be screaming at me going wtf are you on about he’s horrible he’s ugly & slimy & evil no. Oh how 19 years makes you mature ( still not watched all of titanic in one sitting).

The CGI bear is just amazing how they actually did all of that still amazes me. The camera never leaves Leo & is just watching him get torn apart back to front limb to limb & round the neck in one take. When it’s over you need to remember to breath it’s that intense. But what a pleasure it is. I do feel for those baby bears tho who now will grow up with no mother bear. Where was Baxter when you needed him.

The shot of him walking in the snow across the lake with no footprints filmed so far away on that drone is one of the most beautiful pieces of cinema ever. It’s just stunning. All of the scenery shoots are beautiful & inspiring. Bet of the lot is when they try to eat the snow flakes under that tree that’s amazing. & lets be honest we’ve all tried it.

Tom Hardy gives a stunning performance as the crazy greedy Fitzgerald. He puts on his name voice & goes for it. Yes some of his actions make you sick to the stomach & he looks ugly & beaten but oh man I still would. The man is just amazing & he will get a golden statue soon too I’m sure of it.

Will Poulter & Domnhal Gleason also give amazing performances. Even when I watch the film knowing he gets out of it alive I still think Will is going to die. That’s how good it is. It’s so nice when he leaves his food behind for the lady in the village.

Also why didn’t he think something was off when he didn’t take the money for the job. Surely that’s an obvious sign that Fitzgerald is guilty. 

The fact he uses what’s little of his gun powder that’s left to heal his neck with an explosion is amazing. That’s a what would bear grills moment. It’s proper grim to watch but not as bad as when he tries to drink & all the water flows out of his neck with the blood that’s properly bad ew ew ew.

I do feel for him that he spent all that time trying to trap that fish in his little lake & eating snails & plants when there was a field of bison above him.

Why did the natives not notice that the French had their daughter? If they were good trackers like they said they were surely they would have found her there & left everyone else alone.

He was bloody lucky he found the only native who knew his body was rotting & how to make a spa sauna to make sure he survived. Also amazing how after just a couple of days sleeping in there that his leg healed so well.

I love that Dalmatian horse it’s so beautiful & I hate horses I really do they do nothing for me but what a horse. Shame he had to fall off a cliff really but the scene where he guts him to sleep in him to heal oh wow full on gross but wow. That would have been what happened those days.

It’s an absolutely brilliant film it’s so beautiful & moving & an immersive experience that I think you all need to watch this film once in your Life to appreciate the craft of film. It will be a modern classic give it 30 years & people will talk about this as how cinema stepped up once again.
