Spoilers not that I think anyone’s watched this in donkeys years or ever even

So Robin Williams is back as the genie & that’s about it (god bless him) one of the most random story’s ever & stupidest plots. But as a 6 year old I loved it.

Aladdin & Jasmin finally get married ish but there wedding day is ruined by the 40 thieves who are after the oracle wedding gift they have. Aladdin then learns from the oracle his dad is with them, turns out he is there leader.  After they both earn the others trust, he returns for Aladdin’s wedding but true to steal the gift Aladdin breaks him out & takes the blame himself. Meanwhile his father is kidnapped by the men he used to lead & goes in search of there treasure. Aladdin then goes to save his father and defeat the bad guy. His father realises there are greater treasures than gold in the world & gives up his quest. He & Iago return to the night once Jasmin & Aladdin are finally married & he gets to watch.

It’s all far too 90s Disney TV songs when not needed at all & not to many of comical value, maybe 2 if your lucky.

I’m not sure how much they paid for Robin to come back must have been a fuck load. No amount of money is worth putting your name next to that for. Brave but foolish if still an off the cuff performance.

Half the charm of the Aladdin films is his escapes but in this he is allowed to do what ever, there’s no real risk anymore. Even his fight to join the thieves isn’t stressful it happens 10mins in. Never was he going to plummet to his death that way.

Some of the animation you can actually see where they’ve rubbed the lines out its that poorly put together.

Did the colour gold not exist in the 90s? It’s yellow & Orange? Tuttut Disney surely you could find it somewhere.

Moral of this film viewing… don’t watch it even if you feel nostalgic, stick to the first & cry when the genie is freed like you have endless tears. Avoid
