EH?
I hear & see you all going hang on we’ve done this before. However if my chain is showing Inception on their biggest screen on a tuesday night… im fucking going. I dont care how many times ive seen it, im going & im going to scream & cry & laugh & feel complete. Because there is no feeling in the world, which can match you watching your favourite film of all time on the big screen in your favourite seat.
Other than seeing Star Wars as a classic film, this is the most full ive seen a classic at Cineworld. Maybe 10 empty seats in the main body of seats. The bottom was half full but you dont want to look up at all that happening on a screen for 2hs 28 do you. Every age as well.
Trailers, Mine Craft, Death of a Unicorn, Thunderbolts* & sinners. Yea that was a good set of films for this.
& then the film started… Previous review of this film can be found here & here… but yea its still the greatest film anyone has ever made.
You know a film is still just as good all those years later, when as you are leaving there is a group behind you discussing is Cobb still asleep or not. Weather they hadnt seen it in a while or hadnt seen it before, i dont know, but the fact that all these years later is still a conversation is testament to how good a film it is.
I Cried! I mean its hard not to when you see a film that emotionally means so much to you on the big screen. The second Maurice said he was disappointed that he tried, the tears started falling. I couldn’t stop them & then obviously a few scenes later TIME kicks in properly & thats just it. There was someone the row in front of me that when his kids finally turned around i could actually see them shaking. Also in the final scene when he wakes up you never see his left hand properly. Surly a conscious Nolan decision as thats actually his totem, not the spinning top. Because in his dreams he wears a wedding ring.
Can we please appreciate the happy fulfilled & joyous look on Eames face portrayed by Tom Hardy when that safe is opened & hes about to blow everything up. Its joyous. Nothing will ever take the look of delight on that mans face. Not only has he completed the mission & is going to be paid, but hes gone cathartic & is happy that they managed to make sure Robert had a nice final memory with his dad. Also Cillian (Oscar fucking winning) Murphy doesnt turn up until an hour in. That presence.
We had the original version, i could tell from the BBFC title card, but i still waited for the credits, where it didnt say Elliot. The new enhanced version says that.
I could talk inception for hours upon hours so maybe its best i stop there… Dream a little bigger darlings… it is the best film ever made. It just speaks to the soul & if youve not seen it please please do watch it.
