A monday night comedy horror might just be the thing the doctor orders. So lets go watch cold storage for the next 90ish minutes & hope its as weird as the trailer makes it out to be.

Its mainly gen z & younger millennials in here. I am guessing they are the lot obsessed with stranger things, so that is making sense. There are a couple of people older in there, but not many. Id say theres about 30 people in here too.

Trailers, How to make a killing, the new dakota johnson about sex (when isnt it with her), project hail mary & then there were 2 trailers for horror films that didnt bother me at all.

& the the film started… this when we get to the year end im pretty sure will be a film i think ive forgot ive watched.

Bare with me… the number of self storage places i saw on the way home from my cinema, there was a lot of them. Should i be concerned, especially as a couple are on old storage & factory places, should i run for the hills? (i genuinely could i live near some.)

If im honest the opening like decades earlier (which is now deemed in my life time which is scary) is the best part of the entire film. The uneasiness & the tense nature & not knowing how its going to infect & basically making it patient zero… yea that works. After that it becomes lazy & generic. YEs you laugh at a couple of points but its not the rip roaring way they are selling it to you. It does though take the piss out of itself & the trope & times & most of that comes from Liam being incompetent. But there are points where its like oh okay calm down movie, your not the last of us.

So many infected explode or spit or ooze in this film & how the main leads dont even geta splatter on them when everyone else does, is genuinely beyond logic. No way would that have happened. Im calling bullshit.

Other than the two leads, i honestly didnt give a crap about any other character in the film if they made it out or not, & if im honest, they could have been put in a lot more stressful situations than they were. Maybe the old lady in her storage unit was the only one i might have cared about but i honestly forgot about her until she popped back up again.

Who seriously keeps a backpack nuclear bomb in their boiler room & then it not really have a count down & then when it goes off its a little bit to much.

The deer taking the lift was funny.

All the dodgy people got something bad happen to them so thats always good. serves them right, but it was just done & then not.

Also the visuals to show the infection spreading could have been better. I get this isnt a big budget film, but come on movie. At least use some of your cgi that your using for other stuff on this please.

Also boooo to government cover ups as always.

This just needed to be a bit more fun. All the laughs are in the trailer & you can work it all out from that. If you stumble across this at 11pm after a night at the pub you may chuckle a few times, but otherwise is was just about okay.
