Let the chaos begin 3 films in less than 48 hours at the cinema. I know its probably going to be a bit too much but still i can do this.
3 completely different films too
Hoppers
The Immortal Man
The Bride
i doubt many will have this set.
My friday night 4:45 screening wasnt as full as i thought it was going to be which surprised me a little. There was one other solo person her for this, but there were lots of families with kids under the age of 8 there to see this.
Trailers, paw patrol (nope) Toy Story 5 (yes) The Cat in the hat (maybe) & the super mario movie (Yoshi looks cute). I like that there always seem to be less adverts & more trailers at kids movies. ITs nice.
& then the film started… ooooh pixar you are bloody clever.
This film is so much more than just a film about getting a lake back, especially with whats gone on in the last week in the world. This film is very much based on the atrocities that have happened since a second date in october a couple of years ago & once you work that out about 30mins in, this film is so so deep & its not just a cuddly movie about some beavers.
George is my favourite character, i want to protect him with my life. I dont get the lizard hype though. Im sorry i just dont. Its too forced & hes not in it enough to make you go oh him. At least hei-hei is useful ish in moana. Also was it me or did i prefer the creatures the way that humans sore them instead of the big pleading disney eyes (that being said i am about to be taken over by grogu propaganda arent i?)
I was the only person laughing when they just casually at the start of act 3 decided to put part of a scene from Mad Men into the film. Ive never seen an episode but i know that him getting dressed is important & there it was an animated John Hamm going through a morning routine. I laughed a lot.
I welled up a few times, but i was crying at the end quiet a lot if im honest. Im grateful for the credit scenes so i could calm down, im sure i still left very puffy eyed for sure. Pixar stop doing this to us please its too much i cant cope.
I liked the animals & the pond rules & their own little council. It was very clever & easy to explain to kids but with so much more meaning for adults as well. But after seeing the wild robot, & how they did all the animals, this didnt feel as authentic if that makes sense.
I told you those mosquito noise thing were bad didnt i. They are evil. Also i love how it just went silent for the moment to prove that you sometimes just cant hear it. A conversation i often have to have with others about turning theirs off when in my company. FYI im not young anymore so im impressed i can still hear these things.
Who spotted Crush from finding nemo? I did. This needs a second watch as im sure there are countless easter eggs in this for pixar.
I can now imagine a group of 6 to 9 year olds asking their parents for a cassette player, well i hope thats the case. The days of the walkmen might be back soon & that could be epic.
This film explains that communication is key for everyone & that its alright to have some conflicts but there are better ways to discus them than through violence so its good life lessons for everyones.
This is going to be a classic in about 15 years time, people will talk about it like we talk up & toy story 3 for sure. Its worth a watch for the whole family.
