Oooh i love a straight from work film time, the 6pm which means you still have time to get home eat & chill & today that is exactly what the bad guys 2 is for me. I liked the first one (you all know i adore Rockwell) so im so down to see what they are all up to now.

Time to play my favourite game… how many people were in my screening with me for 6pm on tueasday the 29th July… 5… another odd one & a family of 3. Yea. I mean i get its summer holidays you can take your kids whenever but still that shocked me a bit.

Trailers… Freakier Friday (honestly forgot about that), Some pets doing some weird racing thing, Wicked & then there was something else but i cant remember.

& then the film started… oooh i forgot to say the dream works video which usually has the bad guys waving, had Roz & brightbill waving instead ekkkkkk… yea that film is just a solid fun little movie.

McGuffinite! They called the thing they were after McGuffinite. I laughed i kid you not for a good 3 minutes. Brilliant. A kid will be walking about talking about this film & mentioning it without any knowledge. But there i was in my own little row laughing my head off at something so small, but made a film nerd live my best life.

Who doesnt love a heist movie? If you dont your lying. You know i love a heist & you know i love a villain with redeemable qualities, so you know that even though this is for kids that its going to be right up my street to watch. Okay were not talking oceans or anything like that but still, its fun & you wonder how its going to end up getting to the obvious moment at the end.

Every character had really good character development. Be it the main gang from the first film, or the police, or the town or the new bad bad guys. They all had a journey, they all had a life lesson to learn & appreciate. I mean even the bloody Guinee pig was back in this for 2 scene being a mischief & making my laugh that its Richard still.

If theres one thing you can rely on in modern comedys now be it live action or a animation, its that Sam Rockwell (the legend) is going to probably break the forth wall at some point, & i love that the wolf does that here too.

Why is that snake always so fricken cool, no matter what he does hes just owning life. Especially with his own proper self life improvements too. Its so clever & hes stylish as heck. He is the only snake i will ever like.

There are so many more jokes in this films of adults that kids, im pretty sure its for us & not our younglings.

The plot is easy to follow if your 5, you can work out where its going to go, but it does have fun along the way. It wasnt edited together like it was going to be put on tiktok in 3 months time, weve had a few kids films recently where this has been the case, btu this one they had a story, they had a couple of twists & they had a big final battle which then could set up more films should they all want to come back & make a 3rd.

This is just a fun solid kids film. It gets you from a to b to c quickly, its got stupid jokes life lessons & is well animated. Whats not to like about it. Id much prefer to show my niece this that i would snow white or lilo & stich from this year for sure.
