Please don’t judge me with this… I’m not a Tom Cruise fan. Yep sorry people I never got into any of the mission films or his odd comedys or his early 80s stuff nope sorry. I do like Jerry Maguire & that’s about it. Well until I watched this.

Groundhog day goes to war with aliens in the dystopian not too distant future. Where its down to Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt to save the day and again & again & again.

First thing first what if major Cage when he arrived ended up agreeing to go to the beach to rally the troops. What if that happened & he just went along with the orders. Everyone would die & the alien robot things from the matrix would harvest us again.

Why did the alpha mimic not see coming the fact that Cage was going to gain the power to reset the day each time, if they originally had this power why didn’t they do it. Also if it had happened before with Rita why be so stupid to let it happen again.

When did cage learn all the stuff about squad j for his finally speech to them. He hardly spends any time with them at all & doesn’t actually speak to them they just yell abuse at him.

Also if you want someone to join your mad idea why not introduce them to Rita the war hero first then they would all be going yes that then gives you a few more minutes to defeat everyone.

Why is the army full of people from different country’s? Why aren’t they fighting their own mimics from where they came from. Surely they didn’t all just land in Germany.

How many days did they shut Trafalgar Square & the Mall for? Seriously must have been a nightmare to get around the city for a couple of short scenes. All of that do Tom Cruise can have a motorbike shot as all cruise films need one.

Surely by the time he’s died a few times he’s no longer shocked at waking up, surely you contemplate your fate especially when you know it’s for the best & the greater good of the world.

After he does save the world by sacrificing himself he has alien blood entering his system which means he resets the day again but from the first point. Why didn’t it reset it then all the way through the film.

Tom Cruise does give a brilliant performance I do have to say, but Emily Blunt is so perfect. She has to pretend to keep being surprised by everything like it’s the first time she’s done it & she’s learning it for the first time.

It’s a really good film & does a lot for the action film I am, but let’s be honest we always knew it was going to end happy ever after, after all it’s a Cruise film.
