Ra Ra Ahah aaaa RAMA MAMA Ma Gaga Oh lala, your stupid romance. put your paws up for Cinema Club Little Monsters. Time to get the oscars rolling & see who could win.
Everyone know the story a little right youve all seen or heard one of the remakes or at least know what happens. So lets go see what Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper can do, in his directing debut by the way.
Went to see this on Thursday which is my preferred cinema night. Traffic is an absolute bitch pure evil. It takes over an hour to get home, so i trip to see this is well received. Some people look at me & say a film on a Thursday, but its actually quieter. Id say though that this was still half full which is good. Theres no offers or deals for Thursday so word of mouth has gone along way.
Trailers we had Widows, Bohemian Rhapsody, Venom, El Royal, Creed 2 & Bumblebee. Question do i need to watch all of the Rocky films in full before i see Creed 2? i know a little about them like everyone does & i know who the bad guys are… so do i only need to see Creed 1? If someone could let me know that would be brilliant.
& then the film started… Normally you dont start oscar season properly in the uk until December most of the films come out over here in January or February, but if this is anything to go by then my next 5 months of cinema viewing are going to be epic. Im not sure i can cope if im honest.
Bradley Cooper has been getting a lot of oscar buzz for this film & people going oh he will get nominated for directing but he wont win, its only his first film nah…. GIVE THAT MAN HIS BEST DIRECTOR OSCAR NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!! Like now drive over to his house & put that golden statue in his pa & give that man a hug. What a debut film i mean wow. It felt like you were always there watching from side of stage as they all were. It was just beautiful.
His acting wasnt crap, that was stunning too. I love that man & he can sing too oh man. What a beautiful man he is. That accent too ohhhh. He jsut glowed & mesmerised me & just captured everything Lady Gaga was tremendous too, its too early to say if shes oscar worthy yet, im still sticking to the Blunt for that.
Amazing supporting cast who rose to the occasion too. But my queen was there, no not Rihanna ( i would walk over broken glass which was on fire over snakes & sharks for her tho) it was Shangela, everyone’s favourite drag queen. I love her im still not over all stars season 3 but ill be fine. But yea she was in it she probably had the 6th most lines in the entire film so that was epic girlfriends. Brutally honest when she needed to be too.
I cried twice at the end i was sitting there knowing the outcome & thinking nah you’ll be fine its going to be all right & then i cried & id just composed myself & then the real punch to the feels happened & that was it i was gone i was a blubbering mess. Had to wait a good 5 minutes into the credits before i could leave. I just couldnt cope.
The songs were all stunning as well. The album is now here that is in my car has replaced the greatest showman for a little while. fantastic songs. I love the fact they go to Glastonbury & theres a flag that says Wenger Out! Hehe see those pesky arsenal fans get everywhere.
For a two hour long film where you basically know everything thats going to happen as its remake of a remake from a remake, it didnt ever slow down or give you time to think. It just flew past & felt inspiring at all time. ITs so bloody good.
Its defiantly one of the films of the year for sure, where it appears on that list come December i have no idea but, i think if you like your music & you like a good story & films made out of love, its going to be hard to see past this one this year. Go & see it & then give yourself a hug at the end, because at the end of the day you are what you are be proud of that.
