Im taking Pops Popcorn to the cinema… to my odeon to see the third John Wick film because thats what good daughters do right?? Also i have Premier Point that are about to expire so i can get him in for free as well as me, so it only costs him his time & a train ticket into town ( if they work that is yaya for the new time table).

Before we get to the normal kinda cinema club review bit i’ll tell you how we (me & pops) got to know John Wick.

So we went to New York together & had an epic time & loved every second of it & on the flight home, i was kinda like im just gonna watch some telly then fall asleep & he decided to watch a film. He choose the second John Wick film… & it was basically everywhere we had visited that week & he loved it so much so that a few weeks later when it was on sky cinema we sat down together & watched the entire thing to show mama exactly where we went & what everything was. & its was mad. Since then ive seen the end of part 1 & all of number 2 again, so it was a no brainer to try & get Pops to this one. He deserves his red eye flight reward with a seat in screen 3 doesnt he.

Screen 3 for a thursday id say had about 70 people in ther which isnt bad really, especially for a thursday… im the only person who sees films on a thursday. Also i recon i was one of only 5 women in the cinema so was a little out of place, but i dont care.

Trailers i tried to predict as i had someone to impress, i got 2 out of 4 right. I got Dark Phoenix & Godzilla. The ones i didnt get right were Hobbs & Shaw (my bad boys my bad) & Brightburn which is a James Gunn horror film… i am so up for watching that from behind my hands in a few weeks time hehe.

& then the film started… & it did do much more than i expected this too & its just changed the action film game forever.

It was so full on & non stop when it went for it which was basically from 3 minutes in & it actually had you sitting in the cinema in some of the quieter bits trying to catch your breath you were as knackered as they were ( i doubt it but i felt it) The blood & the sheer power of the violence was just wow. There was one moment which the whole cinema felt unsettled by & went oh no hes not oh he is oh he fucking did no no. Come back to me when youve seen it & we can discuss. Thats the bit people will talk about & then after that theres a bit with an axe which just makes everyone laugh.

How many ninjas & how many sand people were there to be killed or fight or be thrown into something or have dogs bite your balls. Whatever number it was just added to the grandeur of the entire thing. They were just told do whatever the hell you want just make it fucking epic & it worked. I mean the stunts & deaths were almost comical at points.

Reeves isnt a very good actor, that is the down side to all of this. When he opens his mouth you do hear that little whinny voice come out. So its a good thing that for a lot of this film he hardly says a word & just goes around attacking people.

It was nice seeing everyone else back too & some new faces as well thats always very good. But then why was one particular person in the film who is new only used as admin surely they will have a bigger part in chapter 4? maybe not but you know. you can hope right?

The thing that made me laugh the most was all the people trying to kill John Wick just had the utmost respect for him & were all just like John if we kill you were sorry but it would be an honour if you kill us. I love that proper chuckles in the light to the shade.

There was a line straight out of the matrix too that was so cool properly fan girled over that.

Walking up the Sahara in that suit, thats going to be so iconic one day that will go down for years & years.

I felt sorry for the doctor tho that was funny but sad as well.

There was one point where they were driving past somewhere in new york & its a little bit off the beaten track & i just turned to my pops & said dont say it, as its usually a place where if we watch something & this pops up he says bin there. I think that set him off with the giggles for 5mins.

So you need some John Wick Knowledge to enjoy this film. At least 30min of number 2. But if full on non stop bloody over the top action is your kinda thing & you are willing to invest in this, then bloody well get on with it & do it.

Just Epic…. Bring on Chapter 4.
