Spoilers… not really this actually all happened

Mama’s trying to buy me a Christmas present i believe, & has said i can watch what ever film i want on our big downstairs TV. So im going epic & real life & going Deepwater Horizon. I want to see if it was as loud & big as i remember & go oh good at real life again.

For those who do not remember what happened over Easter 2010 lets go over it shall we. Deepwater horizon was testing to make sure the drill for oil was already to go & move to proper drilling. Unfortunately that didnt go to plan. All the mud & slush came up the pipe, which mixed with the gas cause a huge explosion which less to the mass evacuation of the rig & eventual sinking & sealing off the well. 11 people died in the even (the majority in the drilling control room) & lots of casualties. & so started the legal court case, as to who was to blame (this film doesn’t really concentrate on that, if it did Micheal Sheen would be playing the head of BP as he looks just like him).

This is actually really hard to comment on as a film. We lived through it & watched this happen on the news all around the world. Unlike Sully, where we didnt know the court room politics this is a story we all knew all too well. The majority i have to say about this film is in my original cinema club review which can be found here yep here

Every actor is very good in this Marky Mark, Kurt, Mallovich, Dylan all brilliant. & the supporting cast on the rig & on the land are all really good, however they all do fall into the back ground really. As much as they are important to the film, it more about the rig & how they survive & ultimately the real people this did happen to who lived through it.

The explosion was absolutely huge & epic & massive & properly engulfing. Even though i had watch it on TV & seen the film in the since i was still shaken to the core by the power of the destruction of the explosion. It so grand & cinematic. & the scary thing is they say the explosion isnt even half the size of the one that actually did happen.

BP were wankers weren’t they.

I dont think theres much else to say about this film, without going to Hollywood on it, mainly as i think Hollywood did a good job with this difficult subject, & kept it true to life & took all the family’s of those who were lost into there thoughts.

I really really like this film, but i did spend the majority of eater 2010 watching this unfold like everyone else, so i think im just intrigued in the story & wanted a closer look at it. That probably very wrong & macabre , but its human nature right.

To all the crew on the rig & the 11 that didnt make it my thoughts are with you & your incredible stories, & i hope you are all okay.
