I asked the internet what i should do my next marathon on, & it overwhelmingly came back to say i should watch Pixar. So this will be a mix of DVD films & Disney plus, as i own a few of them. Also this is the first DVD Pre Review i am doing after watching the film so that when we get around to publishing later on this is already written. Also its easy to do it with a now classic film like this. Yea im that old now that Toy Story 2 is deemed a classic.

Also ive just had a quick read through how i wrote the review for Toy Story back in the day & damn my style has changed no wonder it now takes a while to write a review for sure.

The highlight of this film to this day is the toys crossing the road to get to Al Toy Barn. Its still so so so good. I sat here watching it still wide eyes full of suspense like i did when i was a kid in the cinema. Now as an adult & driver for many years, i just sat here laughing about all of the chaos they caused, all just to cross the road. Its so simple for 2 minutes, but so effective.

& then to a few minutes later get the whole race to the airport with the toys driving, oooooooohhhhhh thats wonderful too. They knew what they were doing those Pixar gods. Got to love a pizza planet car racing around the state & then also not parking in the right part of the air port… Wonderful. So for the adults. As a kid it goes completely over your head.

The whole story is so good just in general. We spend a small amount of time re introducing you to the main toys, then drama happens then theres the story & then there is the final show down. ITs a brilliant formular & it proved finally that a disney sequel could be good. In fact this was one of the rare occasions where people sat there going well actually maybe the follow up was better( its not Toy Story is) but its up there for sure, with Paddington 2 & Top Gun Maverick.

Can we talk about the opening of the film. The Buzz computer game & how as a kid you watched that concerned for actual buzz only to then realise what was going on. I know as an adult you now know this isnt the actual story but there are so many hints to suggest it. & then when he steps on the stones & it plays that tune… AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Iconic. Well done peoples. The Rex cant hit the buttons at the same time, yep i get that Rex, i sometimes fail to do that playing a console game. & then the cheats book & him nerding out about it. So good so so good. Its true its all bloody true.

I get that its no Toy left behind… however, it wasnt like Wheezy was a main character int he first film. Did we need the sacrifice maybe not. I mean without it we get no story.

Buster the Dog acting Casual… yea that is so how you would ACT CASUAL!

$50 for woody should have made Andys mum take woody back inside & lock the door. Seriously love, urgh.

Now that was an impressive collection of memorabilia. As a collector now, im like damn al that is dedication okay yes he did steal woody & why andys mum didnt realise he was missing from the box baffles me, but yea he had so much cool stuff. Including that record player, now that would be bloody cool.

The repairing woody scene is so clever & is beautifully shot & has an amazing score. Also hes got the chess pieces from his short in his draw too. Love it.

Delusional buzz is so irritating but is also really good growth for our buzz. Love it. But also the whole no i am you father Vader moment on the lift with the no… wonderful. Even as a little kid who hadnt seen star wars at that point i was like thats funny, but im not sure what the reason is. As an adult its spot on.

There as so many easter eggs in Al Toy Barn im not going to reference them all, from what they do to what is on display to what is said. Its so good. However the best reference is a throw away line Rex says. If we had balloon we could float ourselves to the top…UP! Thats where the idea of Up comes from.

That airport are fucked. So many people lost part for their luggage in all of that, or got damaged or broken. Its not a good day for all of them. But then the most ridiculous thing of the entire film is that bullseye can keep up to speed with a massive jumbo jet heading to take off on a run way. Yes i get that its a kids film & the toys coming to life is magic, but still. That im calling bullshit on. Im sorry i am. Then driving the baggage carts home as well completely reasonable but that nah no way.

Ive not even mentioned their crime scene they try & do to find woody. Wonderful. So wonderful.

As a kid i was liek oh poor them their show was cancelled, not realising that years later me as a grown adult will always be pissed off we had to rush finish ugly betty & that What we do in the shadows will be no more soon. IT bloody sucks. I get why they all got angry about it now.

This Emily made sure when she moved out all of her Toys went to a good home by the way. Jesses song is so sweet.

Voice cast as always are iconic & so good & yea this is so my childhood introduction to my favourite actor in the entire world. So good as woody.

Buzz does the farewell like spock again twice in this film hehe. Hes definitely a descendant for sure.

Pixar please bring back animated bloopers for your movies during the credits they are wonderful.

Its just pure joy & yes the technology is better now to make this, but its a brilliant & if we dont have this we dont get half the films we get today. Good on those guy & gals from class room A113. Makign the magic we still love all these years later.
