Spoilers!

Get ready for one of the best films ever made, so much so that when it won the best picture award at the Oscars I did yell yes thank fuck for that.

When it came out I wasnt 18 so couldn’t go to the cinema to see it, which I was very sad about. So when the DVD came out after I turned 18 I got it straight away & I think I watched it the moment I got home. 2h30m later I was hooked.

It’s one of these films where you know who the bad guys & the good guys are from the start & yet at different times your not sure who you want to succeed & win. You ultimately work out what’s going to go down, but then like all good films even that kicks you in the teeth & you get that wrong.

Mark Wahlberg should have won the Oscar for best supporting actor. To get that many f & c words in your opening line is just amazing. He delivers the best performance of the film, which is saying a lot knowing that he’s got DiCaprio& Damon & Nicholson & Sheen & Baldwin & Winston to go against. He also gets the final say & ultimate twist at the end which he so deserved & I so didn’t see coming when I first watched it. It sums up the whole film really.

When Martin Sheens body falls from the roof is just amazing. I didn’t think he was going to die in the film at all until about 20secs earlier before he meets his demise. It falls the 20 storeys in front of the police Matt Damon has sent to spy so he can do his dirty work. & his blood splatters all over Leonardo DiCaprio, which Leo then knows he’s got to do this job to the end. Then comes the shootout & getaway driving over Sheens body before the office brawl between Mark & Matt. Something I would mind being in the middle of to stop. That whole 15mins is just amazing I think it may have just won the Oscar for that.

In the end we find out a couple of things about Nicholson that shakes even Matt Damon to his core. So his demise is brilliant you know one of these 2 will die. But then I didn’t see the DiCaprio murder in the lift happening when he arrest Damon on the roof. You just don’t expect it to be his end you are so waiting for Damon to die. The way the blood splatters across the lift from the other police man, and then Damon turning on everyone to make it looks like he’s the innocent party.

It’s also funny that DiCaprio spends the whole film going I don’t want the parade & circumstance & bells at all & then he gets it all for his funeral.

This is the ultimate twist & gang film. It’s bloody & evil with not knowing who you actually want to win. One of my all time favourite films. Well done boys. Fantastic.
