Maybe don’t watch the sci fi thriller horror before bed. Maybe watch the Disney film last. Yea didn’t think that through really.

A couple of months ago I said the when I saw passengers I wanted a moon but got sunshine instead. After watching sunshine again I think I’ve done it a bit of a dis service previously so apologies.

Synopsis is that a group of astronauts have been sent into deep space to drop basically the remaining nuclear bombs on earth into the sun to reignite it, to save man kind. Issue is the previous ship sent is found on there way to the sun which didn’t quite make it & it’s just been left. They decide to go get it so they have 2 attempts then it all starts falling apart & people start during & their ship slowly falls apart. Eventually Capa the scientist is the only one left & does manage to drop the bomb into the sun, which then 8 minutes later his sister can see from earth that it’s getting brighter.

Oh Sir Danny Boyle you love to put me on the edge of my seat don’t you. Never ever change in doing what you do. It’s so smart & you do sit there thinking if you would be willing to take the same risks as the people on board. It’s clever directing to do that to you.

My man Cillian Murphy, I don’t care that the hair is far too long & that you were going through your pasty look of cinema you still look & act fabulously. Never change my man never change. Keep me wanting to keep you alive weather your good or bad. Brilliant emotional performance.

& then there is Chris Evans who rocks it & steals the show. He’s not even the main guy but oh man he takes the film & adds a very human element of life or death & anger & frustration followed by calm. & ultimately pays the ultimate price to make sure the pay load can reach the sun, by unlocking the cooler which is heating knowing that he will go into hypothermia at the bare minimum when or if he get out of it, thus proving to the world he’s a bloody good actor & not just a super hero.

The reason why I said passengers was a sunshine is probably due to Mark Strongs Character which we never really see he’s always blurred out. But it loses its coolness as a sci-fi film when it turns into a slasher movie, & he starts killing people. He is menacing & does his role so well, but we didn’t need this when we believed this was all their own doing. We didn’t need an extra piece to this puzzle. It was going fine & then were into kidnapping & murder yea don’t think it has a place.

That being good said going to the other space ship that was stranded to teach them about their own lives meaning was good. But there demise could have continued to be mistakes by them & not a killer. Just to prove that humans can make mistakes & almost ruin everything but get 1 last shot at redemption mich like what actually happening in the film.

Seeing Sydney in the snow that’s odd but super cool I don’t really want to do that but I really do want to do that… I’m sure you get my meanings there.

I like the idea that when he finally delivers the bomb at the end & triggers it as the remaining 2 crew said he needed to it all turns into starts & he’s engulfed without being set on fire or being being horrific to watch. The fact he can touch his fate & embraces his death to save the world & accepts it is beautiful.

It’s also ironic that none of them could sleep as they all had the nightmare about falling into the sun & in the end that’s what they have to do to save everyone.

It’s a really beautiful carrying sci fi film when you think about it just get rid of the murderer part & have it be someone having an epicanthic moment & you will have a sci fi film up there with moon. Thanks for making this Sir Danny it’s lush.
