I love me an advanced screening, i really do. & the chance to watch the Unbearable Weight before the rest of the world, is up there with things id really like to do so yes lets do this. I am expecting this to be completely crap by the way & a waste of time.

Busiest advanced preview this year for sure that ive been too, which is always good. Half full & lots of groups & odd ones. Most people were fellow millennials too. A few older people too from the cage glory days. Everyone was here for a blast.

Trailers, Top gun (yes) Downton (no) Doctor Strange (yes) & then fire starter which i hadnt seen before but looks very freaky (so probably a yes depends on release date). Also well dont cineworld for realising we are all members & getting rid of the unlimited advert before the film starts. We are already the converted.

& then the film started… WOW! I was not expecting that at all. Oh my oh my oh my in so many ways.

I’d like to get the negative out of the way first. The imaginary younger Nicky Cage. He did my head in. I know it was an ever more over exaggeration than we already had, but when he popped up for a third time i did want to scream at the screen oh fuck off. I mean the Fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggggggggg went on forever & was fun, but it was the one thing about the film i didnt like.

I know Nicholas Cage isnt like that, but Nicholas Cage is owning his over the top-ness of himself. I’m not sure anyone else could have done this about them & their lives, from the table read, the piano & then everything in Spain. All of it, just every second, was a joy to watch & was either funny or action packed or so trippy that you just went with it. Good on you Nick.

The moment i saw in Kingsman even with that over the top accent i went ooooh whos that & why am i (other than the end of the film) more attracted to them then Tatum… & recently films (cough wonder woman) have got his casting wrong & hes done his best to make a good film but failed. However here, Pedro Pascal absolutely nails it. Like okay yes hes a Spanish drug dealer bad guy whos obsessed with cage, but he works it. There is so much more to him than just that. He cant steal the show from Cage, but when they are on screen together the film just vibes & oozes. ITs a joy to see. Im so glad Hollywood are getting him right again. Yeah i enjoyed that probably more than i should have. Mesmerising & on Fire you were Pedro (i still freak out seeing his face tho it should be hidden{i mean it shouldnt but you know, this is the way}).

Any film that shouts out Paddington 2 automatically gets an extra half a star from me end of. Although the whole cinema as we were leaving heard someone say theyve never seen the film. The shock horror from the rest of the cinema was very loud.

There were some jokes which had the entire cinema actually crying & falling apart. My face hurt from smiling laughing & sniggering so much. There were some obvious slam dunks but there were some that were so subtle & then got a few of us going yea thats brilliant.

Theres a trip they go on, while on a trip. Thats amazing.

It was a clever back story as to why he is like that & why random shit is going down, but it doesnt just really on that. The actual story is a very clever concept & is well acted out & there highs & lows & it helps it flows & i think giving it to another duo it wouldnt have worked. This just does & they deliver it superbly.

This isnt a film for cinematography if im honest. However there were points where i was looking at the lovely beaches & spanish town & just being like, i want to go on holiday, i want to go now. So its given me the holiday bug, definitely.

What would you do if people walked into your house & discovered your memorabilia of them on display. I mean Any Marvel actor that walks into mine will be like how many pops. But all the stuff he had, was so brilliant. Im sure there was much more in that room than they pointed out, i think it needs a second viewing for the stuff in that room.

Is Croods 2 any good? Serious question?

I was expecting this to be completely crap & a waste of my time which i why i went to see the advanced preview, to warn you of the film. However i am now sitting here a week later finishing this write up thinking i was too harsh on the imaginary cage, & maybe i need to go see it again knowing that it actually kicks arse.

Its bloody brilliant & i had a blast. You know what to go peoples, get to your local cinema or multiplex & watch the chaos implode… (then come home & watch Paddington 2). I may have to go see this again.
