Urgh!!! two weeks ago was the last time i was sat in a cinema chair Urgh too long ago, but im back & im ready for the MCU & its new hero Shang-Chi (which i am sorry that i will probably never be able to pronounce exactly spot on, i will get close but my bad in advance). Lets see what this new hero has & how its going to be a standard marvel new hero intro film.

As far as people in the cinema go for a monday night (which isnt cheap at Cineworld , there are no offers for it) it was pretty packed. It wasnt as sold out as Free Guy on either viewing but it was close, which is always very good. Id say most people were around my age. A couple of people who were older & a few family groups. But it was mainly the millennial demographic, which is fair enough weve invested in this.

Trailers the New No Time To Die Trailer which came out the day before, the New Eternals Trailer that came out the week before, the New Venom Trailer that came out the week before, the Final Dune Trailer which came out the week before & Copshop which noone gives a shit about. The other 4 films tho ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yea they all look soooo soooo good on the big screen. Yeah bring on an autumn of film.

& then the film started… i mean its always hard to talk MCU in any review especially cinema club but wow it was good.

So we all know Marvel have a formula for introducing new heroes in their origin stories, we all know that. This one does deviate slightly from the original line up a bit, however its still the same formula at the heart & soul of it & lets be honest, if it aint broke dont fix it. So it worked.

Everyone in the film acted their socks off. Considering you know that its not a character i know that well or a back ground ive invested in, it felt refreshing to watch something i knew i was going to enjoy but not actually know where it was going. I invested in every character.

2 credit scenes people, both very important so stick around. Also ive noticed marvel made there credits quicker for once which was nice, it didnt seem as long as wait as some of them do.

Some of the cameos for the MCU are brilliant. I mean there was one cameo which ended up as a duo which had me laughing so much at certain things, & the group sitting 3 seats away from me actually wiping away tears of laughter at one point. & it was from a throw away line earlier in the film too. Brilliant. Im glad i didnt know that person was going to to be in it.

The bus fight is the films show off, it gives you the entire vibe going forward & you know you are in for one hell of a ride.

It sets up the eternals doesnt it… when youve watched it come see me. I think thats interesting as originally the eternals was meant to be before this…. hmmmmmmm

The visuals with some of the magic & elements happening at points in the film was stunning & so soothing. It just felt organic & natural despite being made on a computer.

Theres a bit on the plane which i laughed at.

Nothing felt like it was being forced upon you to believe in it, some times some of the films do force something but all the relationships felt real. All the stunts felt good & the story just vibed its way along & was so good.

Any film that ends with Hotel California is good enough for me.

I left smiling & happy & if Phase 4 is going to be like this i am up for it. I like the refresh & meeting the new heroes & learning their stories, Marvel are doing it better second time around ( looking at you Hulk, Thor & First Avenger{but mainly Thor}) & its going to be so good. Shang-Chi is here to stay.
