I feel like i am the last person in the world to see this film & its technically not been out for 24 hours. Americans had so many previews & leaks for this film that im like hang on a second. Also every trailer ive seen for this film give off different vibes, so im so intrigued by what actually happens in one battle after another.

Its also been a little while since a morning weekend film. But thats what to day is, as this film is long 2h 43mins so seeing it at 11:30 on a saturday makes perfect sense, did take me an age to get there though as everyones dropping kid off at uni.

Id say there was about 30 people in my screen with me. Not large groups, but lots of couples or odd ones who are like yea this fits in with my weekend plans to see this now.

Trailers I Swear (so odd that ive now seen this) Marty Supreme (ive not seen this yet in the cinema so i stopped to watch), Christie, & the smashing machine. Cheers for only 20mins of adverts & trailers its really appreciated.

& then film film started… Fuck a duck…WOW.

I know scores & looks can make you feel intense, but that fucking road… Bloody hell. Like i felt he cinema moving, everyone wa on the edge of their seat watching it. The noise of the cars & the silence around the empty nothingness. That one part of the movie… phenomenal. Thats how you make a film. That scene will be taught for the rest of time so long as people are still making Movies & TV shows. Stunning. Ive got goosebumps thinking about it as i type. It induced my anxiety it was that full on.

DiCaprio, you still got it mate. Damn hes so good. Especially when hes panicking in so much of this. I know he always looks like Leo, but damn hes not lost a step has he. Still commanding, still the ultimate leading man, we are lucky that we get to watch him in his peak & that his peak really has been for so so long.

Now my Sean Penn watching is a little bit lacking. I will admit that, but he was so fricking evil in this, that he is likely to win the award for the person i want to slap around the face at the end of the year. From the moment you saw him & every single thing he did in the entire movie was just horrific. So so fricking bad. Now that, thats good acting. Like he was so evil, even other dodgy or evil people were like mate we draw the line here okay…

I genuinely dont think there was a cast member who didnt own their performance, even from the start with the other people who were apart of the French 75 who may have only had a couple of lines, they were all so good. Obviously Benecio, Chase (which is her first job by the way) & Teyana were all so good. You lost your mind looking at the talent on displace. It has its stars this film but everyone even the skateboarding extra & drugged up nuns they were so so good.

Put your hands up if you thought this film would involves a white man cult to do with christmas before you saw it? Put your hand up now that this makes complete & utter sense & you so believe this kind of thing exists because its so batshit that it has too & that its completely fucked over? Like what the hell was that! It was also bad as at one point i was laughing at something they said & then you were like hang on thats far to over the top, that is the kind of stuff people in charge or with too much money do say & we just go along with it.

The score & the choice of songs the film used, spot on, so clever. It added to the build, it made it more cinematic. It just oozed class & stress & power & panic at the same time. It just worked on a crazy level.

The way it was filmed felt grand. The night being so dark & bleak at all point & the day giving off a glow to make it feel more hopeful that youve survived once more & that life & people can get you through it. Loved that.

Whats the time… & then he bloody answered! I laughed a little too hard at that.

You always have one friend whos a snitch & if you dont thats cos its you. However i do like that he did try to learn the pronouns even in his stoned weird way. You also all know a karen whos too professional at their job & if you dont well…

No one in this film was safe from death or being kidnapped or being arrested or being deported it was bloody scary.

So this film will upset a lot of people because of the subject matter & how long this has been going on. The current state of the world & how we treat people that may not look like us or have the same beliefs as us is wrong. Everyone wants a home, a bit of money, enough food to make it to the next day, a bed & yet there are some people in power due to the colour of your skin or your gender or you beliefs that treat others like they are evil. Okay being a terrorist to free these people isnt the best way to go about it, this film goes the extreme way, but seeing how people just disappear so easily. ITs horrible.
There were raids at one point that were unsettling &then there was also a protest going on where the police decided to put people in the protest to cause issues to then make the police attack. Thats just so so wrong, just because you dont like people standing up for their town their neighbours & whats right that you decided to be two faced about it. Its so fucking scary that this is the way the world has gone & its not a nice place to live.

This film is bold & brave & doesnt hold back its punches. Its well acted with a good story & score that flies by the near 3hour run time. If this isnt buzzer contender worthy for film of the year, im not sure what is.
You all need to watch this movie before those in power ban it.
