Da Da Duuuhna Duh da… Round 2 time.
Its been a couple of weeks since i saw this opening day in IMAX & this saturday is a complete wash out so whats better than spending 3 hours in the cinema, watch Tom Cruise run away from Shiz.
Now a star wars or sci-fi film id expect people to compliment me on my mando bag but i had 3 people ask me about it today, im rather flattered. I also did get popcorn as its what tom suggested.
Considering there is a lot of choice on at the moment for everyone at the cinema, Id say my screen was 60% full which is impressive. Well done peoples. Proper fix of ages too. Im guessing with the long run time you either go or you dont.
Trailers, the new Jurassic world one (slutty johnny has a lot to answer for) F1 (still seems odd but its booked) F4 (someone was shocked when she said she was having a baby) Super man(new trailer for th at too which i hadnt seen yet) & then the naked gun which still makes everyone laugh.
& then… wait… Tom did his message again. Slightly different just thanking us for going to the big screen. Im guessing hes only done these for Cineworld. Still makes me feel happy. Original Cinema club review is here.
Then the film started… still epic.
Act 3 is almost an entire hour, even thought its kind of only meant to be be 25mins in total long. Its still bloody cool though & the number of people that sighed & were like oh god at the end in my screening still a few weeks on, that was good.
Also when the submarine guy turned up & said the line which is a bit of a meme at the moment he got a cheer & a chuckle. Loved that. Obviously seeing that opening day we didnt know how powerful that moment was going to be.
Ive had a few people i know who have now seen this & asked why were the russians not tricked & i had to say well they then found that sub & then saw it leave which must have meant the americans were off else where, which means the codes werent useful to get to the submarine. That sequence is still petrifying him in that sub, proper heart palpitations still & i knew what was coming.
There is no tube station like that at Trafalgar square, im sorry theres not. Also love how one of the armed police is so like checking out that its Tom as he walks in, thats clever. Also the symmetry at the start to the end with that moment too.
Before the opening credits we get a good 20 mins of film before the theme song kicks in. ITs like okay that was just the teaser now we are really going to get going.
Tom running is still bloody iconic. Keep it up mate, cinema is counting on it.
I still cried, both times especially at the last words its just too good.
Yea its still cinema & its bloody brilliant. I will see you all at the movies for this buzzer contender any day of the week.
