This films got the best Tag Line of the year ONE SMALL STEP FOR LAMB! What a line. Seriously if that doesnt sell you going to see this film i dont know what will. So lets go raise the average age of this film shall we. Its going to be a smiley 84 minutes.

Lets talk about some of the trailers before this shall we poor small kids. Adams Family meh, Spies in disguise yes, Maleficent (even though its already out bit odd) Star Wars yes & mini frozen one. These are all classic kids films kids will want to see but after sitting through 20mins of adverts to then get 10 mins of trailers is a bit much.

There were lots of familys with small kids in the cinema which is fair enough they are the target audience. But i was there on my own there was another adult on there own & there was a group of lads in their early 30s there too. We are the Aardman Animation generation, we have been invested in this our entire lives. Its always been there, so i didnt raise the average age. Which was nice.

& then the film started… not one word is spoken in this film, its all in gibberish or random noises or bah or barks & yet i understood every single word & it made perfect sense & was an absolute delight of a film.

I loved the throw backs they were so good especially for us loyal original ardman kids. The Grand Day Out nod for all of 2 seconds was proper in the feels especially as its the films birthday & its the same age as me. I think i actually went awwww when it happened.

As much as Shaun is cute & so is that baby sheep, that alien is just the cutest. I mean kids will want to dress up as that for halloween. Its just so sweet & simple & it actually made me a litte emotional at times. The want to get home & the story was soooooooooo sweet.

As an adult you knew when the punch lines & jokes were coming & you were waiting for the pay off & hoping they were going to nail it. Its Aardman of course they did. I mean that first view of the china shop you knew it was coming & then when it did about an hour later you go yes lads.

Story was a little predictable, but lets be honest the target audience is 4 to 8 year olds. So im sure as a kid you sit there going oh god whats going to happen next & its full of suspense. As an adult you know exactly whats going to happen & whats happening with the sub plots.

I like the little bomb disposal robot he is full of personality & it just brilliant. He is the evolution of the oven from The Grand Day Out . The UFO NASA guys also have there place too. I mean it can be a bit slapstick at times but it has earnt that right over the years to do that.

As an adult i wanted about another 6 to 10 mins worth of film just to fill in a few plot holes or moments & round it off a bit more. But i watch a lot of films so im being unfair here by saying this to a small kids film.

Honestly this is kids perfection, it really is. If you have a small child & want to see if they can sit in a cinema for 90mins this is perfect for you to take them too. You will love it they will enjoy it & you will want to go home & watch Ardman for the rest of the day.

Shaun of the Sheep, well done sir. It was a giant leap for Lamb kind.
