Time for the next DECU film, which im honest i watch the trailer for & it looks so cliché this is actually going to probably hurt. However you never know. I have no idea if this has had the Gunn effect or not but lets give it a chance see what happens with it.

This was after opening weekend this was the tuesday afterwards. I got my preferred seat in screen 1, ahhh i love this chair & if im honest i was expecting a few more people in here that this. about 30. its discount day too. It was mainly 1 parent & too almost teenage kids & then groups of teenagers. So the target audience if im honest.

Trailers, the Marvels(obviously), The Creator (yes) Dune 2 (yes) Wonker (yes finally seen that as a trailer on the big screen at last).

& then the film started… Oh this is really going to be a victim of circumstance this film it really really is, bless it for so so many reasons.

& those reasons are
Superhero movie fatigue
Wanting original content
DCEU not being the MCU (even on an average day for the MCU)
James Gun taking over
Its release date

Yea all those things are the films problem unfortunately & its a shame if im honest because it starts off having soul & promise & a decent idea but then its just like okay just another super hero movie then.

This just felt like it had fallen from 2009 as a super hero movie. I could see the tropes of the film coming from a mile off. I mean yes i know i over analyse some movies & with some of them you can go ah this might happen. But we even went to an ancestral plain for crying out loud. I was like no no no you dont. I mean what it does it does do well. At least it didnt have a sky beam finally.

The lead was good & it showed real world problems for people & at points gave us a history lesson without giving us one if that makes sense. Watch the film to understand it. Also i was happy with the cast they used. It made sense.

The villain & the Hench man were good. I did fan girl when Harvey turned up (Guillermo from what we do in the shadows) yea went ahhhhhhhh your not just a voice over anymore wooohoo your a bit part in a movie yes. The Hench man put up a good fight too. & it proved that some people just dont deserve some power.

The actual Blue Beetle was weird & odd, but im sure if there ever is a sequel it will be explained a lot more. If we ever get one. Also did no one else hear that voice & shouldnt the other guy have heard it too. I also needed more of the general science explained. Okay maybe ive been watching Oppenheimer too much.

The secret lab looked a bit too much hydra if you asked me.

Upperty people are now being prominent in super hero film no no no no boooo go away.

Some very good life lessons for everyone in this film but only one person really had an epiphany & it was always obvious who it was going to be from a certain point.

This was mid & average. It was fun, its better than some of the other DC stuff weve had in the last year, lets just say that. Its just going to be interesting to see how this does around the world & what James Gunn will do with it if he decides too. It will be very very interesting to see. It made me smile & i had fun but at the end of the day it was just another super hero origin story.
