So here’s my plan to start. I plan on doing a Top 5 list of each year i have been born in based on what most people saw that year. It may not match up to what i think is the Top 5, but thats what im going to do. Obviously there will be a full review if i own them on the Blogs section

So lets start with 1989. I was alive for near 62 days in 1989, i was born & within the week the Berlin Wall had fallen down… i didnt have anything to do with it but you know its a good opening line, isn’t it. If reading that makes you feel old im sorry. Unfortunately thats all that really happened that year after i was born. The end to the cold war.

So lets do a list the top 5 films of 1989.

5. The Little Mermaid

My favourite film as a child arrived basically when i did. yea spooky. It probably also why i have a one sided parting in my hair, and a poxy excuse for a fringe.

4. Back to the Future II

I have a confession to make. Ive not seen any of the back to the future films( yes you can disown me) i know its culturally significant though, and everyone went to see it, hence its i the list.

3.Licence to Kill

Bond James Bond. Hes on the run. Its the second and final Dalton film 🙁 my bond bows out in style. He has to take on special agent Johnson from die hard first though and fight a shark.

2.Indian Jones & the Last Crusade (and the Holy Grail (if you live in Asia i believe that was the title))

Harrison Ford hangs up Indi’s whip (or so we thought) for the last time as he does what he originally became famous for, stopping the Germans. That and his Dad being a retired Bond showing up.

And the winner of the 1989 film award goes to

1.Batman

I’ve seen this film but not 1 sitting i think iv missed like 15mins of it in total. Without this Batman, there will be no Christopher Nolan, or Heath Ledgers Joker. It stopped it being all Kapow & thump & ouch and made it serious movie.

There was a shout out for Fields of Dreams to be included in this list, but only for the build it and he will come line. If you dont agree, sorry its my opinion, but why not watch these films. I will try to watch Back to the Future II i promise, well obviously i will need to do number 1 first.
