SPOILERS
At last im finally watching Demolition yes yes yes. Its taken well over a year, but its now on sky cinema (as i cant find the DVD anywhere to watch it) & everyone else is out of the house or not bothered, & theres nothing on tv until the football later so happy days.
I tried so hard to see this film last year in my cinema’s but despite the shit load of adverts for it i would have had to have done to Southampton or Croydon to see it. Yeah no thanks thats a longer drive than the fucking film for crying out loud.
Im so glad i have finally seen it, it was so heartwarming beautiful lovely & sad. It was so compelling that when it was over i felt like i had only been watching it for 5mins i was so entranced by it.
Basically a mans wife dies, & he cant morns for her. As this happens he try buy sweets from a vending machine, and starts writing to there complaints department about his grief. He end up befriending the person & has a relationship with her & her son. He eventually decides that in order to fix his life he needs to mend everything broken, which includes the work bath room & destroying his house. Its only after these moments when he eventually realises he is the one who is broken & finally grieves for his wife.
Jake Gyllenhaal needs a fucking oscar soon, he is the new great tragedy of someone with out one. He is too perfect in this film. Like i dont feel like im watching an actor, i feel like im watching someone have there own mental break down as they cant show emotions. I love it when he tries to cry in the mirror & all the kids look at him at the wake like wtf are you on. & the rush he gets who he stabs his foot into the nail or gets shot at, you feel for the guy but you know that when this happens its his out poring of pain.
I want to go on ebay & find a bulldozer. That whole destroying everything in your house looks so therapeutic & is basically an extreme kitchen floor reset. But how much fun did that look. Also when he is dancing down the path going mad. We’ve all wanted to do that when our song comes on but no one does. Lets fucking do that people like right now.
The flash backs are used so well, so so well. Giving you the that that he actually was concentrating & paying attention for all those year.
The end part when he finally goes to her grave again, & the stalker goes there to say he is sorry as he was the one who killed her, & then when he gets back in his car & finally he relies he loves her & cries for his lost, is so sad, but its what you have waited all film to see that moment when he is happy to let the world knows how he feels. You cry with him.
This was such a beautiful film, that i only finished watching it an hour ago, when i started writing this review. I just want you all to spend your sunday afternoon on sky cinema watching this & then go to whoever is in your house at the time & ask them if they are okay. After you have seen the film you will know why. Its good to talk & let it all out sometimes.
