Popcorn Synopsis for you all

We follow Freddie Mercury on his rise from being a baggage handler working at an airport to headlining live aid. Freddie on a student night watches a band at a student bar & offers to write songs for them, but their lead singer has just quit. Freddie songs for them & along with an additional member start touring the student bar & club scene. Along the way he meets Mary & starts a sexual relationship with her. Eventually Freddie get bored & digests they take all there stuff & put it on an album & hire a music studio. A representative from a label hears them & signs them up. The band start touring & Freddie starts to realise that he is interested in men & women, at the point where he asks Mary to marry him. The group then record the next album which the record company aren’t happy with as no radio station will play bohemian rhapsody which after forcing some radio stations to listen to becomes an instant classic. Mary realises Freddie is gay & breaks of the engagement. She remains friends with Freddie who starts throwing house party’s & being out of control much to the band & his friends disliking. Freddie after a fall out with their manager announces to the rest of the band he has been offered his own album & Queen is no more. Freddie’s partner then blocks all Freddie’s calls but it’s a visit from mary that makes Freddie come to his sense. The bands former lawyer who Freddie appointed manager before he left speaks to the band to see if they can work with Freddie again for one more show, which after teasing him agree too as long as everything is split 25% each. Freddie then finds out he has aids & tells the band on the eve of live aid. Freddie & Queen then take to the stage at live aid after he has reconciled with a former lover & his family & perform the most icon performance ever seen at Wembley Stadium. The film fades out to them taking their final bow to don’t stop me now.

Nobody can do Freddie, Freddie was one of a kind & can never be replicated. Still an icon even now almost 30 years after his death, he has the audience in the palm of his hand. The man should be celebrated.

Remi is a good Freddie & does portray him very well, but he shouldn’t have won best actor at the oscars. That was Bales for Vice, & Bale was robbed. I would say that he was the 4th best performance in that category. He is still bloody good dont get me wrong, just go see what Bradley, Viggo & Christian think. Or at least watch them then come back to me.

I still cant get my head around the fact that the guy in midsomer murders in Brian May & that Peter Beal in Eastenders is Roger Taylor. That still freaks me out a little. Both are good in the film though & do bring some style & mad hair to it.

Also if you spot the Adam Lambert cameo congratulations on your keen eyesight. Its a blink & you miss it but when i saw it in the cinema i was like nah its not it cant be, got home googled it, it was. It is cool tho.

I like the fact that Mike Myers is the record label executive & talks about people not accepting bohemian & that he cant see teenagers dancing to it or head smashing to it in the car. That is perfect casting & foreshadowing & just brilliant & someone had the idea to do that & it works so well.

Obviously all of the music is amazing, i mean its queen for fuck sake. People will be having themselves areal good time long after ive died, the music will live forever.

The recording of Bohemian Rhapsody is just amazing. It really is. Im so glad it goes on for that long too. Normally a bit like that in the film you go really were still doing this, butthe song deserves it. Oh the operatic section sure.

Some of the slut shaming on Freddie was a little bit much & did make it feel more like a character in a film than the actual legend. Maybe that stuff did happen, but it did feel at times a little sickly & unnecessary.

Some of the random hello detroit & words saying where they were performing were a little bit much at times, it was like they had to fill for about 10minutes with random place names. We know they go on to conquer the world, but there are a couple of sections of the film just dedicated to this. ! is fine, 3 is unnecessary.

Dont throw the kettle or toaster no.

Obviously Live Aid is the point of this film & i love the fact that the dedicate a quarter of the film to it basically. ITs really emotive & powerful & you do sit there wanting to get up & singalong & join in with it you really do. Its just one of those moment in time that is just frozen which becomes so much more than it actually is. He gets his recognition & is back on top of the world. Its perfection, the way its redone is on point & is one of the best set pieces of 2018 in cinema.

I do like this film alot, it helps that i love Queen & there music. IT really does get you emotionally & is just such a feel good, especially with the end of it. After all the show must go on.
