Spoilers

This is the one the film you have all been waiting for me to review. It’s time & I will try to explain it I promise. It’s time for Inception! Ekkk

Right let’s make this understandable as I know some of you still don’t get this. Robert Fisher is about to take over his dads empire, however his competition, Saito, wants him to break up his fathers business. He knows he can’t do it so he some how persuades Cobb & Arthur to try to extract information from his mind. After initially failing he realises that he is actually asleep twice & wants them to work for him, Promising Cobb he can get him home to his kids. Cobb accepts & sets up a team to try & plant the idea in Fishers mind whilst trying to avoid the people he failed the initial job for.

The night before the job his new architect works out that Cobb has problems with his dead wife, whom Cobb reveals killed herself later on but framed Cobb. She then accompany them in there job to get into fishers mind. Fisher did have training to prevent extraction of memory’s so if you die in a dream you end up in limbo where you will start going mad. Saito get shot in the first dream, after going through dreams 1&2 they have almost completed 3 when as Fisher is about to complete the dream & open his mind he is shot by Cobbs wife, when he can’t kill her. Realising everyone who is dead is in limbo Cobb & Ariagne go to Limbo to get back Fisher. It is there revealed that Cobb originally did inception on his own wife in limbo to escape. She agrees to swap Cobb with Fisher, but Cobb is actually there for Saito so he can the go home. Ariagne saves Fisher so he can go back & complete dream 3 opening his mind & breaking into his own subconscious, & everyone except Cobb wakes up through all the dreams. Cobb finds Saito & wakes up back on the plane & walks though immigration with no problem & sees his kids. However his spinning top that he uses to check reality is still spinning as he walks away, & we don’t know if it falls or not so we don’t know if he is still asleep & has accepted his fate or if he is actually awake.

Did I just make that more confusing that Nolan did? If so I am so so sorry. & this may very well be the longest review I ever ever write. My passion for this film is unmatched.

Little disclosure here I started writing this before my sister went to see this at summerset house which I couldn’t get tickets for & saw the Michael Caine speech & basically had me on the phone for it, where he says he’s awake. But up until that moment I believed he was asleep still. So this is all written as if Cobb is still asleep & has accepted his reality(& that he isn’t awake). Also can people stop sending me the link now for that I know. I was probably the first perosn outside of the room to be told this & every single person in the world has since messaged me going your theory is wrong.

Right lets go. This is such a masterpiece & warner brothers should be thanked every single day for telling Christopher Nolan heres a 200mil budget so whatever you want with it. It is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. & i know i have badly explained it here but honestly i dont care.

Note to anyone out there if you have properly watched this film you have a chance at hacking every single password i have. Most of them come from this film so good luck getting into all my systems people. Probably shouldnt have said that but you know. Its a challenge for you all.

I will quite often randomly quote bits of this film to people who have no idea what im on about & sit there quite proud of myself. Especially on trains, or in a hospital. Its bad. I know i shouldnt but i do. I do love to trot out the whole you mustnt be afraid to dream a little bigger darling line too.

Every single member of the cast is amazing, even from the extras in the subconscious are just on point. DiCaprio has to nail it, which well he is DiCaprio so he does, but here its just different level. He didnt get an oscar nomination for this did he. This is the first time i think there should of been a casting award for best ensemble performance. Seriously. Everyone is just on fire.

We need to talk about the fact that Nolan doesnt have a villain in this piece at all. Saito is not the bad guy, Fisher isnt the bad guy, his dad isnt the bad guy even Mal isnt the bad guy. They all have reason with you to side with them. Nolan finds the light & shade in every single person in this film & shows them at their best & worst & i think that should be commended.

This film is also all about the special effects though lets be honest. The mad explosion in the cafe in slowmotion is stunning & feels electrifying every single time you watch it. I get goosebumps & go ooooohhh yea watching it. Its so special. & thats before we get the the city moving & that mirror scene which i fucking love & that would be my first question to Nolan if i ever met him, how?!?!? How is that even possible? Its really something… to quote the film.

& thats not even getting into the final 3 stage dream with the city & the hotel & the snow. Were not even touching limbo at this point. In my own dreams i do sometimes feel like im waking up in the sea of my own subconscious, especially recently, with some which have linked. If Nolan is mucking about with my head im more than happy to let this continue.

Everyone says you properly understand inception on the third or fourth time of watching it. Me number two 20minutes in. I just sat there & went oh of course thats the case i get it now. & i was kinda shocked that i did get it & then when we got to the end & it was confirmed I was just like fuck yes i get you Nolan, i am with you on this one. Go for it man. I am still so happy with myself every time for thinking that.

I love the fact that Arthur is basically there to narrate & explain the rules & what goes on all the time. That is so clever, because you dont realise hes doing it until about 1hour 20mins into the film & you go oh yea thanks for all the exposition that actually helped.

We also need to appreciate the fact that Tom Hardy at this point was a little unknown, he didnt do huge blockbuster & was more tv & indie when Nolan gave him the call, yet hes standing there opposite DiCaprio matching him & just being Tom Hardy basically. Its the only time i think Tom Hardy has ever actually played himself.

Nolan loves putting bags over Murphys head doesnt he or making him wear weird stuff. This one is bit much putting a bag over hi head & then drowning him. He just doesnt want me to see those beautiful eyes does he.

The van falling off the bridge in slow mo for so long is stunning, it really is beautiful because that was one take with them all in the back of it with 8 different camera because they had one morning to get it right. Its just wow.

I love the fact the Tom Hardys Eames is just like you watching everything unfold. Hes pissed off that hes failed & that he doesnt get to see the open mind & then when there is a chance he properly going go go mateget it & then hes looking at it going is he going to do it is he is he yes get the fuck in there & now im blowing everything up. Its the exact same reaction you have watching it as the viewer & i love the fact we go through this together.

There are lots of moments in this film where im either holding my breath or pushing or wriggling with them to get out of something or through or to hang on to it, when they all are on screen. IT adds to the suspense, even 10 years on i still sit there hanging on to the edge of my seat goin ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

The score is perfection. It really is. Its just wow. If i ever get married i am walking toward my husband whoever he is to TIME. I think it will set us up for ever & whenever i hear it i just smile because it take me to that moment at the end of the film of pure perfection & i just beam & my world feels complete & full & nothing is ever going to go wrong ever again.

I know what i said above about Caine & when hes in it its the real world, which is my only downer now about this film. But honestly i dont care. I still think he is asleep & he just accepted his situation for whatever it was & he was happy to go with that. Which is what we all have every single day of our lives.

This is a masterpiece. It really is & the fact i have typed for so long & so passionately & still not been able to say everything i want because the film is toooooo perfect says a lot. I genuinely think everyone should watch this film & sit there at the end of it & go oh wow. Even if you dont get it you will appreciate it without a shadow of a doubt.

I think the fact that without fail when the credits start i say oh fuck off Nolan you bastard is enough. Its just too good.

Its not sticking my neck out by saying this, but this genuinely is the greatest film of all time & im sorry if you say otherwise you are wrong. Its going to have to be something mighty special to beat this film. It really is.

THANKYOU CHRISTOPHER NOLAN FOR THIS GIFT!!!
