So i have a busy week this week, but no cinema booked, which i cant cope with. So Monday night im free, so i asked Film Twitter what i should go see. Top Gun for round 3 or Thor for round 2… A unanimous 20 person vote meant that i returned to the danger zone.

So bearing in mind this film has been out at the cinema forever & i went to see it night 2 back at the end of May, tonight’s standard showing in screen 7 of cineworld, was 80% full. & a lot, id say at least half of the peoples in there were watching it for the first time. You could tell who was there for a multiple view but im impressed. Thats why its one of the highest grossing films of all times because peoples are still discovering. Proper mix of ages from 12 year olds to a couple who were definitely in there 80s.

we had 15min of adverts & 15min of trailers really film really urgh. Anyhow trailers Avatar (nope) Bullet Train (yes booked in screen x) Ticket to Paradise (probably) Black Adam (yes) & MI7 (why is that such a long wait away)

& then the film started… & ive run out of words for this film as too how epic it is.

Im going to say it. Act 3 is the best Act 3 this 2020’s & probably the best act 3 of the last 10 years. Seriously it is so well filmed & acted & the score & the stakes at risk & the style. It just works so perfectly & is so clever. I know its one of those when you see it for the first time that you either know its going to end one way or another, but still the pay off is amazing. Seriously up there. Just fantastic cinema.

It was really nice working out who were the first time watchers of this & whos the multiple viewers. You can see people move in there seats & mumble the lines before they come out of the mouth. & those that then laugh or go ahh at the first watch. I think about 5 people on the final time Talk to me Goose was said, whispered it, which was nice. I am so happy people are still seeing this 2 months later.

So Hangman, is the guy in the stock exchange in the dark knight rises. I cant believe i have only just realised that & i was like ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Yea i re-watched that film last week & i was like ahh its him its top gun guy.

The moaning the millennials wouldnt know great balls of fire. Hang on that song was too old for Tom in the first film, so dont moan that we wouldnt hear it.

I still well up when he speaks. Thats lush. Thats when you know a film has got it right. You really do & its just a pleasure.

My own self imposed rules mean i cant hit a golden buzzer yet, but its bloody close. I think theres two films that could beat this, but im not sure. Its going to be something bloody marvellous that makes me go nope its not Top Gun Maverick.

Its a blast & is such a film & if youve still not seen it please go see it. It is still out & it is such a blast & so cool & i still havent got danger zone or one republic out of my head yet. A triumph of blockbuster film making.

Talk to me Goose… is this the golden buzzer winner?
