Ladies & Gents this is the moment you’ve waited for…
It is since about the 8th of February this has been on my wish list it really has. For part of the besties birthday party, we are going to see the sing-a-long version of The Greatest Showman.
Since i last saw it on January 3rd, the soundtrack has spent 10 weeks at number 1 on the official UK music chart. Its taken so much money & has become a phenomenon. & Critics still hate it… they are missing out people.
So yea here we go were off to Worthing to sing-a-long & to see if its everything we ever wanted, or needed, if it was right in front of us, & what we wanted to be… you can tell im excited. Hell this first part of the review I’ve written a week in advance, before i go. Thats how pumped i am.
if you want to go… here’s the first review of it before we get into this experience Click me Click me
It was packed thats not just me saying it was pack it was properly packed, like we had a friend Steph who wasnt sure she could make the party, so when she realized she could she went into town to buy a ticket & she got the last one. Seriously there were no tickets left at all. It was so full we couldn’t actually get in the foyay.
Cant tell you what the trailers were, want really paying attention to that, my friend was to busy sorting out her popcorn & wine & i was being her hold onto person while she sorted it all out.
& then the film start… well it didnt actually. There on screen was Hugh Jackman saying thank you for making it the phenomenon that the film is & for keeping it at number one in the album chart & in the top 10 in the singles chart & for us all just to keep going to watch it, to make it the highest grossing film in the UK in 2018 so far. That was nice, very very nice. We all cheered the end of his video. Then the film started.
The group of friends i went with were mixed of people who had seen it more than once before, a couple of times or not at all, so I’ve asked them all to give me a short review to put on my blog (with there blessing obviously), so that you can see what the cross section said.
Lucy says The best feeling film of the year. Anything is possible after you watch this! Shes seen it a couple of times.
Tara (who hadnt seen it before) says Uplifting, motivating and a general feelgood film
which is pretty darn good isn’t it.
This will be updated if anyone else gets back to me
Its even better when you are involved in it,which i didnt think it was possible. Every single person who knew the words sang it work for word. It was so weird when after a big iconic bit we all started applauding, like yea we can sing that.
I got much more emotionally involved too, i cried too much, had to keep taking the glasses off to clear them, recon i did that 4 times. Maybe it was because i knew what was coming. but yeah was properly getting into it. There were points i was crying & couldn’t actually sing.
The kid next to Kirsty asked his mum about 20 minutes in whats this film called again? Its the greatest showman she replied. Oh said the kid, its not very grate is it? That was it the two of us giggled for about 5 minutes.
I still love that critic hes brilliant, i resonate with him. Maybe hes my back up spirit animal, if AJ fails at his job (hes not let me down yet). I do find too much joy in films though even when there a bit shit so maybe hes not it then. I still think hes good considering he only pops up like 4 times in the film, hes a big part.
Kirsty & i did have a pact to recreate the bar whisky scene on our night out that Jackman & Effron did but nah that didnt happen if it had wed have probably been kicked out of the club.
When Jackman turns in in his white bow tie & tales before introducing Lind to the world, i had my Jackman moment as he said ladies & gentleman. I went a bit weak at the knees. Hom nom that man.
We did notice an error in one scene when Charitys’ dad is having his suit fitted, hes wearing his Jacket at one point & 2 seconds later the tailor is holding it. Booooo bad film booo completely ruins it (nah it doesnt but you know).
It was just epic absolutely epic, its still a golden buzzer contender, defiantly the perfect afternoon & the perfect party for Kirsty. Now can i reorder it on DVD yet & will my iPhone let me listen to it again for the 400th time.
