Last day of carefree holiday from work for me today, ive got a half day & therefore i am using it to go to the cinema to do a back to back screening. Starting off with now you see me 3. I love me a heist movie & i love how these just own it so fingers crossed this meets up to the expectation of the others.

I arrived as the last trailer for wicked was on as it was a very quick work turn around, but i did see that it was almost sold out for the 2pm showing, which is really really good. Why are all these people at the cinema on a friday at 2:20 pm.

& then the film started… the magic is still alive peoples.

Is it fair to call these guilty pleasures, im not sure, it feels like it as time. As someone who takes my film watching very seriously & knows what should be a good film or not, i know part of my soul is like no you shouldnt like these… & yet im a sucker for them. I know there are flaws & sometimes the pacing is off but i bloody love them & i want one of these films every like 3 years please. Just to keep me going.

I know im behind on writing at the moment so a lot of you will know some people appeared in this film, but for so much press & posters & info about this film over the last 18 months for a couple of things t o be kept quiet… well done. Thats a very hard job to do. I was glad as i was like omg at a couple of points.

I love the twists in them. You always think you have it worked out but you so dont, you really really dont. & that the whole magic of it because the closer you think you are to an answer the film just then goes actually. Thats the point & its so cool.

The new additions were really good. The next generation are representing & earning their stripes in this. Yes its nice to see the original horsemen back but we spend enough time with everyone to make an ensemble cast not feel like anyone was really left off. The only one with less time was Woody but number 2 he was featured heavily also he had no new person to bounce off with, hes always there to make sure its cool & good.

Hands up if you expected there to be two f1 movies in 2025? Not me. The line “help me Ricky Bobby” had me laughing very hard a couple of other people chuckled too.

Rosamund needs to be a villain more often, shes so cool. Okay yes this is a gone girl woman saying this, but she is very good & there is a potential for a return for her maybe. I also like that Morgan Freeman did come back for a couple of bits.

I always love how they explain most of the magic & why its all linked or why they did it all. Its very clever. Makes you feel like you are apart of it as well. Also there was one point early on where 2 things were mentioned &in my head i was like remember this & then they were important for the end, i was very happy with that.

It is a jet setting movie going everywhere so its nice to see all of the world. So many movies dont do this anymore due to budgets but this it went for it.

Lots of people in my screening gasped at points or were on the edge of their seats, the 3 gen z behind me left the cinema going that was their fave film of the year.

This might not get a buzzer nomination from me, but it did everything i wanted it to. I had an amazing time & i hope we dont have to wait as long for the next one of these films. I want them semi regularly please, especially after the tease at the end. Bring them on. You cant go wrong with these movies in my opinion.
