Yes it’s award seasons in film land & our nomination for the BAFTAS have been announced (sponsored by EE) yes it’s more random than the Oscars but it’s a good sign as to where the awards will probably be going.

Now here’s my issue before I start, iv probably not seen about 70% of the films nominated, do I need to go see some over the next 4 weeks to have a valid opinion? I will try & see a couple but life does sometimes get in the way a bit. Also my Odeon cards not turned up yet.

So lets go through some categories then.

Best Annimation:- Inside Out, Minions, Shaun the Sheep Movie.

Based of the fact Nick Park has never lost a bafta hes been up for its got to be Shaun of the Sheep (as we call it) the others may have made millions of dollars but no lets stay true to british.

Best Director:- Adam McKay, Steven Spielberg, Todd Haynes, Ridley Scott, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.

Im going to say Todd Haynes isnt going to win can i do that, id like all 4 of the others to win so iv shut my eyes and picked a name at random and pulled out Adam McKay.

Best Supporting Actress:- Alicia Vikander, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Julie Walters, Kate Winslet, Rooney Mara.

Best Supporting Actor:- Benicio del Toro, Christian Bale, Idris Elba, Mark Ruffalo, Mark Rylance.

Honestly i have no idea at all for wither of these two categorys which is really bad. Being Bafta they are likely to give the actor to Idris as hes never won anything, smae for Julie Walters.

Best Actor:- Bryan Cranston, Eddie Redmayne, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Michael Fassbender.

First of all its a travesty Tom Hardy isnt on the list for Legend gutted for the man. Im going to try and see the Danish Girl this week, however that being said…surely its time for DiCaprio to become king and win at last.

Best Actress:- Alicia Vikander, Bri Larson, Cate Blanchett, Maggie Smith, Saoirse Ronan.

Oh fuck it come on Maggie Smith you can do it love.

Best Film:- The Big Shot, Bridge of Spies, Carol, The Revenant, Spotlight.

Ok as of this moment ive seen none of them (sorry), Spotlight seems to be the early favorite but iv hadnt heard of it until the nominations were announced. However based on the review iv just read in Empire and the Hype im going to pick The Revenant to win.

So thats my brief review on the awards im sure my opinion will change i will do a Bafta update after the winners have been announced. I hope you all enjoy the globes tonight shame January is the busiest month of the year for me and i cant get the time off work to stay up and watch it.
