You know i said i had finished with the Oscars & Award winners… well

Look it was on at 4:40 on a Friday & i finish work at 4:30 so it had to be done, i wouldn’t be a film fan if i hadn’t. Also i wanted to see if it did deserve the Oscar that it eventually got.

However before we get to this Kudos to the Brighton Odeon for showing a advert for the Chestnut Tree Hospice . Its one of our local charity & i felt all warm & fuzzy inside watching it made me feel really happy good on them.

I know the films been out for a while but there was me & 8 other people in the cinema to watch this. i know what!!!

Film trailer wise im still not sold on The Lost City of Z, Ghost in a Shell i am starting to warm to which is bad. We all also know that im going to see Life by now (cant believe i missed Jake on the One Show for fuck sake). But Free Fire… now that looks hysterical, sign me up like now it looks so much fun. I want to see that film.

So review time actually as i type this one of my friends has just messaged me to see what i thought about the film. Spooky… well here we go Amy.

It was a solid good film, but i wanted it to be much more Grittier, & more in depth than what it actually was. I’d heard it was this amazing coming of age finding out about your sexuality film which was hard hitting, but i left the film feeling a little underwhelmed. Maybe my issue is i know the fate of this film & what it went on to win where as if i had seen it with the rest of them maybe i would have had a different opinion but thats my fault not the films.

That being said i am of the firm opinion the Dev Patel was robbed of his Oscar, the guy who picked up best supporting actor was good, but he didnt have that many lines and dint put me through an emotional journey.  I felt a bit cheated by that.

The fact it was split into 3 parts was brilliant. Very clever without you really knowing it was going to do this. But then i think we should have had a 4th to see if it did end happily ever after, as it still could have gone completely wrong.

Namoi Harris is just classy in everything she does, & she nails her role in this film. Its hard to imagine her as Money Penny when you see what she goes through in this film.

The sentiment to the story was good & sweet & romantic & to be done on the kind of budget it had has to be commended, but i just feel there were better films this Oscar season that should have won above this.

I’m very glad i have seen Moonlight, i mean thats what my Odeon card is for right, but i am still a firm believer that out of all the Oscar films i have seen… Manchester By The Sea is the best. And you cant say i cant judge them against each other surely thats the point.
