& last but not least (maybe wait to find out in the review) is the 4th film of the week the Kid Who Would Be King, I cant believe i have done 4 films this week. thats madness, even for me.
4:50 is the perfect time for me on a Friday, i can stroll from my office at half 4 & walk into my chair at the cinema as the advert starts, properly lush.
Screen 7 wasnt full by any imagination, but it was still 20% full id say maybe 25% mainly parents with there 10 to 15 year olds. The kid in front of me was quite funny he was scared of some of the bits on the adverts for other films, so lets just say where there were some jumpy bits in this it was very fun to watch him freak out that watch the film.
Trailers we had the missing link which looks very odd, Xmen which i wouldnt really put before this film, Captain Marvel (fair enough ) & dumbo. I think there may have also been a secret life of pets trailer too, im not sure. Thats the problem with so many films in a week all the trailers blur into each other.
& then the film started… & im going to be honest, it was a little bit shit. But unlike lots of films it knew it was a little bit shit & went with it, & therefore hit every single mark it made for itself, which needs to be commended.
Absolutely brilliant background message which i was just sitting there going yes go for it film. It properly had a go at the government & how the generation above dont listen to the next generation, & the fact that why is it one group of peoples fault when someone else created the problem , & the way the world is being treated. Yes Yes YESSSSS! Well done film for having the balls to have a t go at people. The people it was aimed at will never watch this film, but if one of them does it might make them buck there ideas up a bit.
There was enough Patrick Stewart & Rebecca Ferguson to give them both impact, but wasnt necessarily there for just the money. Both were good too. They didnt distract from the kids in the film, who did very well.
Tintagel is still one of the most beautiful places ever. It really is. Glad that its still as wet & windy & rainy there & at the cheeses rind as it was when we left. It the fact they even go to the arcade which is brilliant. We ourselves call it King Arthurs Slots so i was properly giggling at that.
The school fight was good really creative, i think that would be what anyone would do in that situation.
The lady of the lake is somethign to behold it really is.
Those monsters are not PG i have to say. They were a bit much for this film considering you are saying its technically okay for little kids to watch. Bit full on & grim.
Some of the joke & laughs were a little bit predictable at times, but were all delivered in the correct fashion.
Yes this film isnt factually accurate, & it is a little bit crap, but its morals & heart are true, so you cant dislike it. A proper British film, that knows exactly where its place in the world is.
