I dont do dinos but Jonathan & Scarlett can get me into the cinema for them. Yep slutty nerd summer begins here for the month of July. This is the one i was least interested in out of the main 3 but i am a cinema person & theres nothing else out this weekend so here i am ready to watch this.

As apart of Cineworlds birthday this week all us members got a free popcorn with our card, so that was nice. I also got a chat with Adam too wooohooo. I also some how despite my screening being half sold had a whole row to myself woohoo. Proper mix of age groups too from families with young teens to people in their 60s.

Trailers, f4 (ekkkk) superman(ekkk) naked gun(ekkk) The smashing machine, the bad guys, Wicked (ekkk)…
& then it happened.

The place went silent for 1 minute 7 seconds…

Id heard a rumour but seen no one in the uk say they had seen it. I was on such a high. Sucha fuckign High. Bring it on.

& then the film started… the trailer was better.

So i asked a friend who likes monster & dinosaur movies who went to see this the same week & she was like meh. I then asked a friend who had kids who are really into this stuff at the moment & they said there kid said it was okay, but it wasnt like an excited okay. Im glad its not just me that was a little underwhelmed & i dont do these movies. I watch them because i know i should & i always try to give them the benefit of the doubt. Like for example Godzilla minus one… epic. But this, nah.

Scarlett & Johnathan & his slutty little glasses & that harness were good. Were they enough to make me want to come back & see more as a fan of this type of film, nope. Im not sure why they made him have an accent. Would it have been too much if he was british in it. Also ive seen loads of people moaning about their lack of chemistry…NOT EVERY BLOCKBUSTER NEEDS TO HAVE ROMANCE TO MAKE IT WORK! They worked well as friends, but there was never any point where i thought either of them were being flirty with the other intentionally.

I dont get why we had 2 stories, because the other story of the family they end up helping then not helping then helping was weird. Yes it added tension at points but so many of these extra people got on my nerves for so many reasons. I get we needed the main group to be more competent but still couldnt they have got lost & had some of the tension for them as well. They had less drama, & lets be honest that family should have been eaten early on.

We did have a couple of jump scares which were a little like oh god, but there was some CGI on the dinos & a couple of deaths that made me laugh that probably shouldnt have done. Also the second they mentioned the back up plan it was obvious how something was going to go down in act 3.

Did the film call itself out & say people arent interested in dinosaurs anymore…? Im sure that happened. Bold move movie. Maybe you know the last 2 films were crap.

There was a member of the team who was called Leclerc… LECLERC! All i was thinking was f1, way to pull me out of a movie. Every time someone said his name i was thinking of the actor in a banana costume going lando… lando… we can be world champion.

The water Dinosaurs were the best, they were the most menacing & freaky. Very cleverly done.

There was a lot of product placement in this film. At times it was a bit like oooh come on really. Like ive never seen someone have so many mints.

I get the moral of the film & that some people need to listen to it especially american health care, however it took a long time for them to realise that was what was important & that they could leave a legacy.

Also once it ended then what? They were on a crap boat in an area with no help, good luck getting back home.

Yea not even hot nerd summer can convince me to enjoy some dinos. Im guessing they are never going to be for me. Im glad i saw it, but this wont be on a rewatch list. Im sure others loved this but its just not my cuppa tea.
