6pm straight after work for horror movies time, happy days. Yep thats what i do so i dont get scared before i got to bed. What?! Its a formula that works. Joel & Ellie are making everything dark before bed time at the moment. So 6pm horror is perfect for me. So lets do this. Ive actively avoided information about this film too.

Theres about 30 people on a Tuesday night for this which is pretty good. Mostly millennial like me all with there coffee. Ahh it was a different girl who made my Mandalorian coffee today & she handed it over & said this is the way… GET IN!!!!

Trailers, Peral (nope) Scream (nope) another Horror film (but i cant remember what it was some woman in a bath) & then Magic Mike (yes also an interesting choice).

& then the film started… & well well well i wasnt expecting half of that & i think that made it a whole lot more enjoyable than i expected.

So we all know Dave Batista is good, but who knew he actually had that in him? I mean yes hes been a heal in Wrestling, but that was all, like seriously, all on his shoulders to lead & deliver. A small cast with a lot to deal with & he owned it. If it was another just below top teir actor wed all be going oh wow did you see that performance, but because its Dave we dont. I want to give him all the Kudos for this showing. It was amazing. Good on you Dave, you proved you could do it.

So a M.Night Shyamalan you expect a twist or something batshit to go down more than the main plot. & here well… wasnt expecting that. I mean i get it & its clever but i think i need a rewatch as im sure theres something i missed to trigger something out there. It was weird.

I love that it was set in 24 hours, to add the stakes to it all as well. A ticking clock always makes you panic no matter what film it is, but a psycological film with some horror, its always a good option, to ramp it up even further. A good way to format it & a good way to shoot it with limited people in one space while still dealing with Covid. HEs the only guy to make Covid films isnt he?

It wasnt as bloody or violent as i thought it was going to be. I was expecting it to be a lot lot worse & be grim & having to hide a lot. I mean i get it but still. I think i jumped twice but it was more wincing at wasnt happening on screen.

As far as the script & story went i enjoyed it a lot. But once again were pushing God & religions & being a saviour down people throats. Im not enjoying this at the moment. Weve had a couple of examples recently where this has been the case & its not for me. Leave my Agnostic arse alone please.

It flew by, so much stuff was going on, when we got to act 3 i was like what the hell already have i misjudged this. But no it was act 3. So fast but got so much in during that time too.

I liked the what do you believe in & conspiracy feeling part of it. That was very clever & interesting. I enjoyed that.

If you like something phycological that fly’s by this is the film for you. Its grim at points, but its very good & is well worth a watch if this is you bag. Were not talking midsummer or night crawler, but damn its the tier below.
