Time for Pixar to probably ruin my life again, like they always do. Cant wait. This is going to be a really emotional one, i can tell it is. I mean its not going to be Up or Paddington 2 but its going to be Finding Dory levels.

Now this film was a 5 oclock start, i finish work at 5 so i really fast power walked from my office to the cinema. & i got there during the trailers so didnt actually see how many people were in screen 7. Sorry peoples.

Trailers that i saw were Troll World tour, Peter Rabbit (which like Bond has just been delayed as well {this isnt looking good is it}) & rise of Gru which looks fucking fabulous (probably shouldnt say that about a kids film should i oh well).

& then the film…. well the pixar short should of started… but it didnt we got a 7 min episode of the simpsons as the house of mouse have now purchased them & its a good way of advertising that they have this before we get Disney Plus in a few weeks. So close now. It was nice it wasnt anything remarkable but it was okay.

& then the film started… Stop making me cry Pixar please please please. Its not good for my mental health at all, being an emotional wreck all the time watching your films.

The problem now with pixar is you know there tricks they are going to pull we have seen them all 20 odd times & we know what the triggers are going to be. & no matter how strong i pretend to be & not look at & tell myself its only a cartoon, i fall for it every single time. & this one did the same. & i really wish it hadnt, especially the end bit oh man that was hard to watch. Anyone whos ever grieved will watch that & go oh fuck this & then will blub & blub & blub.

Can 2020 please stop with the shoelaces in films please. Its my trigger point. Its the thing thats made me cry the most & i just cant cope with it. Seriously it was such a small little moment in this film but when it happened i cried.

Some amazing pop culture references to other films that are disney & pixar related (Pizza Planet is an easy spot) but the references to the Pratt & Hollands films are brilliant too. Proper if you know you know & you laugh at the in joke. This Wasn’t a kids film, this was for those in the know. Even some characters attitudes were correct to go with other bits as well loved that.

Unicorns are meant to be nice right, im guessing the ones in this film weren’t Barry or Gary as they were properly scary & not very nice. They were like foxes or racoons (if your from america) that get into your bins. The pixies were cool too & very funny.

The best thing was the dinner that was amazing i laughed so much. I kinda worked out what was going to happen with that as well so that when it did & it was just way OTT i was loving every single second of it. Pixar nails this kinda stuff too. It takes you where you think we should go.

As far as it being a kids film & the life lessons that come it, it gets them across well. Obviously the family life lessons are very key in this & are very cleverly done, but so is the whole you are who you are & that its okay to be a bit odd if thats you. Your normal is normal & it is okay not to be okay. Its okay to get knocked down & try again & then if its not for you for you to accept that. The love loss & finding it do really hit home.

When they are almost completing their journey & they hit the disappointment, i really was gutted for them too. Okay i had worked out that we still had more of the film to go, but i was just like no it cant be no no no. I didnt realise exactly what we were still going to get at this point but it did turn it around.

I love the foreshadowing at the start & the echoing of the start at the end. Brilliant way to put us on the right path to start & then sum it up at the end. It really was brilliant.

This is a really heart warming film from Pixar which ticks soooo many boxes & really is something lovely. Okay i see a few films so found some bits a little predictable, but thats not this films fault. You will love it & cry for the last 10mins of the film & your kids will adore it & then ask you if you’re a wizard yourself.

Enjoy it people. It really is worth a watch.
