Ive got a few days off im not tired & i cant go to bed after playing Black Mirror Bandasnatch, no way pepe. So lets go through disney plus see what theyve got, now ive finished Goldblum… oh my god George of the Jungle, ive not seen this since i was 12 it cant of been that bad can it, lets watch….

Oh my god that is bloody horrendous & stupid & how that film got made i have no idea at all. But it did. Why was this such a huge part of my childhood, why did my parents encourage me to watch it. I guess it wasnt disney & they like John Cleese.

I love the narrator he is the best thing in the film. Lines like mean while in an expense & underused waterfall set, & look Lyle is here whos done blah blah while off screen & the argument with the narrator too from the cast is amazing. He is the highlight of this film. It is worth watching just for that.

It is also worth watching for John Cleese too, his Ape called Ape is bloody good. I mean some of it is a little far fetched (i mean the whole film is but you know), his way of getting George to mate is mad.

The guides that show them the jungle are just so typically 90s its horrendous. So much is socially wrong with that & just culturally in accurate. Watching that now in 2020 made me feel a little bit awkward. I mean it felt comforting as i remembered watching it in my childhood but there were bits that were wrong.

Why did George not learn to not hit a tree? I know he had no other humans to show him that, but hes learnt everything else hasnt he up to a certain point, so why does he always hit the tree. That really long swing too is way way too over the top.

There are some bits of footage in the jungle & at the party that are used twice & its so obvious now as an adult. I mean its good money saving but its just very lazy.

How did it take George so long to get back to Ape to save him, but took Ursula like a day less. Also Tucan could of flown back to get more help.

I like the lucky charms i forgot them they were quite sweet.

What is it with Chicks & Horses? is one of the worst lines in cinema history for sooo many reasons, its like urgh, nope i do not want that said in a film. Its also really bad that all those high society women are all looking at a stable guy for the first time too. Oh theres just too much wrong with that bit.

Its like the shower scene. I know its a kids film, but were those 2 women really that shocked to see him naked? One of them was engaged for crying out loud, surly she’d seen something before…

The fast forwarding conversation with the parents is okay, but even for a fast forward is still a bit to drawn out, however the stripes & spot conversation is very good & basically sums up the classes still to this day & how you should marry someone like you.

So as a look back at nostalgia it was nice for 90mins. It made me remember being about 9 years old & how this film was one of the few films we always rented from the vhs shop down the road.

However i am now 31 & it is 2020, & it has not aged well & as much as it made me smile & feel happy, there are bits that watching back are just a little too uncomfortable & cringy, & i like cringe.

Sorry George you have not aged well.
