Happy 50th animated film Disney. Yes they have made 50 so decided to go back to their routes & tell a fairy tale in a sing along with a princess who is taken away from her parents.

Based on Repunzel the story of the baby girl who’s hair has healing powers when she sings so is kept in a tower by an evil old woman. Until on her 18th birthday, which is always what happens in Disney films its always an anniversary or something, strange events occur which mean she finds out the truth.

So lets start with the stars of the show the show. The horse & camileion yes the Disney side kicks once again get the best parts & neither actually say a word. Both prove loyalty weather good or bad, but in the end they both help to save the day.

Flynn… Or whatever his name is Eugene was it anyhow the guy from Chuck he starts of narrating the story saying this is how I died, which clearly you know he doesn’t as guess what he’s narrating duh. Also his narration isn’t the whole film either just start & end wtf I hate it when films do this it least make it at odd times like Tarantino peoples.

His sacrifice to save Repunzel is obvious where it’s going let’s be fair, yes I know it’s a kids film but even a 4 year old could have predicted that.

The guys in the bar with their dreams are cool. That’s the kinda Disney pub I want to go to. Seriously looks good. The ugly duckling I think.

Why did no one spot that tower until Flynn? & either it was there before so would be really old or falling apart or the old lady built it when she stole the baby, which would have taken her years to do or she’d have had help. Also it was behind that shifty willow curtain thing.

The songs aren’t memorable altho pleasant & fitting in, you know no one has asked me if I want to be king or build a snowman have they.

The lanterns are brilliant & beautiful iconic the moment they float out onto the bay, it does look real like it a video footage of a display.

It was a good film, & il probably find all the adult references on a second watch, but I’m not sure if it’s Disney classic material.
