Spoiler alert!

Well I managed to last to film 23 before I got to a film with this man in. Not that I own too many of them, most of them he is evil or freaky in, he dies a lot too. No I’m not talking DiCaprio, I’m talking Murphy. Cillian Murphy! So this is forewarning I’m a bit biased for obvious reasons, but iv warned you now.

So it’s Timberlake takes on the government & police, in order to bring justice to the world. Everyone is born with a genetic clock in their arm which activates when they are 25. They then stop ageing & have 1 year left. They then have to earn the money or get it by another means. But when Will saves Henry Hamilton he transfer over a 100 years to him. Thus the fun begins.

Firstly, Leonard from Big bang theory is his best friend that he gives 10 years to. If only just started getting into big bang, so this was just like omg how have I not seen this before. Hes not in the film for long tho. All he wants is drinks & a good time.

The same can be said for Olivier Wilde. She turns 50 & it’s announced that she’s 25 for the 25 time, this would make her 49… Hmmm bad script writing.

Also if Will knew where his mum was why didn’t he get their earlier, to pass on his time. They could have both gone to New Greenwich & lived happily ever after. But no she has to run to meet him. Yes its a mirror image of the last scene, but why did she not hang onto the back of the bus or take off her heels to run faster. Stupid woman.

Alex Pettyfer is usually the hottest man in a film, however here he is only 3rd behind Murphy & Timberlake. He still puts on a brilliant gangster performance of a mod boss. You always want him to get his comeuppance, and lose his time. & after Wills earlier foreshadowing about fighting about 30mins earlier you knew what was going to happen.

The car chases are ok, I know it’s not on Bond or Bourne level, but the driving backwards is pretty call but, the Raymonds car wasn’t damaged enough that he couldn’t continue to follow. Also no one in New Greenwich drives fast cars. If I had millions of years I’d have a different car for everyday of the week I wouldn’t display it on my front lawn & not touch it. Priority people.

Amanda Seyfried should have gone for different hair. The ginger bob doesn’t suit her. All she does is moan. Her life’s to safe, then to dangerous, then she has not time, then she doesn’t get enough time, then she wants rescuing, then she’s a risk to society, then she gives up, & finally she runs away. Stop moaning about your missing decade & get on with your life. Her character really irritates me. Also She comes from the rich world, where no one really runs yet she can keep up with Will, in heels. Wtf!

When they steel the money they give most of it away to people who they care about & also those that are generous themselves. Making them the futurist robin hood.

So if you want to skip the next part where I go on about Cillian Murphy’s Raymond Leon, the time keeper, please go down to the bottom for the final part.

I don’t care that he’s the villain, that you want him to fail, & that you want the good guys to escape, I want him to win. I want him in his leather coat skinny jeans & sparkley blue eyes to win & set the world back to normal. It doesn’t matter that his character is old, he can keep my time in check whenever.

He does a fuck load of running almost catching Will & Silvia on many occasions. & then when he finally does, & he goes go give them extra time that they gave him earlier as he realises, he times out. Which is sad. If you don’t guess it earlier in the film from clues you discover at this point that he also came from zone 12.

So Murphy gush is now over peoples.

The film could properly be better, but it does work really well. A few more character developments would have been good like the little girl & her capsule. But over all its a good film. It’s a clever idea, as people probably do wish they could live for ever & wonder if there is a way to do it.

I’m just going to leave you with this thought. Zones 8, 11 & 12 ended up emptying to New Greenwich to live. What if the system did collapse, & the people revolted. Time zones would then be punished & held to ransom, some maybe even destroyed. What if this is the making of Panem & district 12… i know bit random but its set in a similar era.
