Only 3 trips to the cinema this week sorry i have let you all down. Last week was probably too many tho im very sorry about the fact its going to take me forever to get all the reviews up.
Screen 2 was a little spas if im honest, but it was a 4:50 film (best time for a friday film if you ask me) & someone was in my chair wtf?! this keeps happening at the moment. Stop seriously stop sitting in my seats people.
Trailers we had the Aftermath, Dumbo, fishermans friends & this weird one about Judy Dench being a spy. Out of all those films thats the one i want to see the most. It looks amazing. Dench being Hench bring it on.
& then the film started… & it was worth every penny but kind of for all the wrong reasons.
The film is all about empowering women & equal rights for all & being taken seriously & making a stand & having your voice be heard. So why was it worth every penny. Armie Hammer & his little suave smile when he was in his pastel blue suit & he removed his sunglasses. I know ive completely lost the point but from that moment on i didnt care about the rel life story to this film nothing else mattered. That was worth my time in the cinema. His acting as the perfect husband was good to.
Felicity Jones is good, but shes not a powerful leading lady yet, to do a court room politic drama. It will come with practice, but she looked even more out of her depth than she was making it out to be. Not a confident showing at all. The girls who was her teenage daughter out acted her if im honest.
I was really looking forward to being completely empowered & righteous & motivated to make a change as a woman by the end of this film, but in all honesty i wasnt which means the film missed its mark.
I wanted it to be more legal or political or court room drama than it was where as this just made it all a bit meh & it got to caught up in itself. It lacked the guts to be powerful.
That being said some of those old men who were good at being seedy & mean i did want to punch in the face. They could fuck off. How dare they have those opinions on women.
It was good, but ive seen better films at empowering women than this. It was distinctly average, but if you get a chance see it. Just for that Armie smile.
