Did the resto f the world for get this was a thing? Clearly because there had been minimal advertising for this. So much so that i might have missed it had i not added this to my watch hit list for 2025. But here we go, im going to see Nobody 2 & hoping its just as whacky & weird as the first film. I also spent a couple of days in the last few weeks trying to find the original on streaming to remind myself but i had to pay for it boo.
Clearly no one remembers the first or this one. It is just me well no not really theres 10 other people in my 6pm screening with me on Tuesday night. I am also the youngest person in here too.
Trailers, the Roses (the last time im ever going to see this woohoo) Honey Dont (finally a trailer for this) I speak, Tron & i cant remember the other one it wasnt wicked, maybe it was the roof man… No it was caught stealing that was it.
& then the films started… I dont know why these films arent more popular because this did exactly what i expected it to most of the time.
This film is all about the build but damn when we get to the act 3 final showdown it goes for it. It full on goes for it & lets be honest thats what you want an action film. Yes its far too over the top, but lets be honest, youve all wondered what a ball pit & theme park ride items would look like if they exploded dramatically. Its batshit & insane in the best way.
There was a collective gasp when the bully at the theme park pushed his daughter from the audience. It was this films trigger & daisy dog point. We all knew shit was going to get crazy so quickly. Shit was going to go down in an epic way.
The boat trip was so funny & weird but worked so well. It just showed the film at its madness. So much stuff on the boat is used to beat the shit out of people too.
It is cool that these films decide to make someone who you dont meet until about an hour, but then we dont actually care if they make it out alive or not. I mean we all have seen these kind of films time & time before so we all know the outcome before we even sit down, but it only really gives us two scenes before we come to the big battle between them at the end. At least this villain wasnt entirely bland like so many have been.
Can we just appreciate that this film doesnt dilly dally about so many add random plots we dont need in it. We get 3 clear acts, lots of fights & violence & over the top bit & it take 90ish minutes to sort it all out. I dont need a really long monologue, get on with it & settle your scores. We dont need to allude to certain things. This film actually at one point as he was going back to his past has maybe 2 flashbacks but it was for the story, they didnt out stay the welcome.
There were a couple of characters who were in the first film that i forgot about. But i couldnt find it on streaming to rewatch before i came back to this, which is a bit of a shame but when i got home & googles it i was like i was right woohoo.
I laughed a lot. It made me smile. It did what it said on the tin. If you want a bloody good & blood filled action film that doesnt take itself seriously but delivers a satisfying outcome you cant go wrong with the nobody films. Sometimes this is the exact kind of film that you need.
