The chance to go watch a film that was made where you live, is very rare. But thats what happens in Living, & its being shown only at a local cinema so paying £3.50 on a monday night to see it isnt the end of the world is it. Lets go watch Living.

I am definitely lowering the average age here for sure 100%. Most people are in there 50s watching this. When i walked into the screening there was someone who actually went ahhhh a millennial. cheers mate. The Balcony id say had at least 3 people in each row. You cant see whos downstairs, but looking at them all stream out afterward, id day it was the same down there too.

Trailers, Matilda, She Said, Knives Out, After Sun, The Menu, She Said, Panto, National Theatre, Avatar. Yea we had no adverts at all. It was seriously all trailers. So i thought ahh are we gonna get the film a little bit earlier, but no 20 mins of trailers. I mean not the end of the world, but still.

& then the film started… & its not going to make ways at the oscars but i can see this doing very well at the BAFTAS for sure.

Okay so im biased, & so was my cinema, but when we first went to Worthing you heard the whole room collectively sit up or go ooooh. Worthing is 3miles away from where i live. I can walk there in 1hour along the beach (40mins if i just want to really march it). I always claim to be from Brighton but im a Lancing girl (& finally proud of that as ive survived all the crap that goes on here) so whenever somethings being filmed or going on down here im always incredible proud. Ive been to the cafe & i know the bar where he sang & i know where that circus show was on the seafront in Hove. & it felt so nice to see home on the big screen & to know that people will be looking at it for Award Season. Really really proud of being who i am & where i come from finally (its taken a while).

Bill was amazing. He really was. If he gets an Oscar nod good on him, but i think he will get one from Bafta for sure. Its the exact kind of thing they do to reward us brits for just a classy performance as recognition. So im certain he will get one. From the singing to the little speeches & then the passion, its a sweet heart-warming performance & i see no reason why he shouldnt pick as nod up at all.

There were upperty people in this film & just a few who were downright mean & miserable, who pissed me off a lot. However eventually they all learnt there way &(other than 3) carried on the spirit of it all. I mean as someone who works in a very profession capacity for my actual job where if i dont meet deadline or file things for clients the revenue get in touch with me i do understand that, but after all that chat & all that inspiration to then just go back to it… urgh. Yea some people needed to be put in there place a little bit more than they were. I felt the normal people pain if you get me.

Act 2 ended & i thought oh go is that the end of the film & then Act 3 started & then got going & once it did i was like wow this is amazing & i felt a lot in the feels. It was amazing & the last part of Act 3 (other than where i live being in the film) was the best bit of the movie. There was one image that was beautiful & i welled up. I did hear someone having a proper cry at it in the screening. It was beautiful.

This film is all about communication if im honest & talking to others. There a really powerful conversation that happens at one point which made me well up again & then later on in the film there another. But its also about the conversations you dont have. This always make me go really soft inside. I always say that its okay not to be okay & that im always here for you guys (my dms & comments are always open for you all) but i do have days where anxiety creeps in & i stay guarded. & this happened in the week i saw this film. I had a very crap thursday at work & it took me forever to get home & my lap top wasnt working & i was gonna do a work out & i just sat on my sofa & opened the mince pies & got a txt from my mama going how was today & i just called her & ranted about everything. She said better now… yes i was. & if i hadnt had that conversations & just basically gone ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh at her id probably would have woken up on Friday going nope i cant deal with this today. Im not saying youve all got to talk about your problems all the time, but every now & then you do need a conversation & just let it all out. Doesnt have to be straight away its whenever. Anxiety is real & we all have days when it affects us more. The Caffeine just keeps it away for a while.

I love the whole bit about him then just doing what he wanted & then didnt regret a thing. I love that what a brilliant attitude to have with life. As someone who tried to be happy & do as much as possible (hence the back log of reviews to write) I appreciate that.

There was some underdog love as well in this film. Im always here for that. Its what makes us normal little guys feel good when that happens.

The rest of the film other than those very powerful messages was a little bit average, but those messages were so strong you needed a lull to get through it all.

Also who wins a grabber on the second go? You deffinatly dont down here no way pepe.

No one talking on the train in the morning… i laughed at that. Thats sucha british thing, it really really is. Its crazy. The rest of the world think we are weird for not doing that.

It was a sweet but powerful film. It had some beautiful moments & i see this being mentioned in our award season if nowhere else. We make British films well, we really do, & this is a perfect example of how to do that. & yes its always nice to see home on the big screen.
