Weve been trying since the boat that rocked to try & get to Beach Cinema on friday, however the weather for the last month has been crap so every single one has been canceled… until tonight so me & 2 of my girls headed down there.
It was packed absolutely packed. Id say definitely over 200 people on the beach to watch it. I hope the martlets made a fortune. I had already donated to them in town earlier in the day as their pride displays over the last month had been stunning, so when i got there & they saw i already had my sticker they went oh okay thanks for donating earlier. but im sure they made a lot of money.
It also wasnt as cold as it has been down there. I only put my hoodie on half way through the film & had no need for the blankie. Altho someone sitting in front of us & a really sweet poing in the films chair broke & they hit the pebbles with a loud thump. We tried not to laugh but we kinda did.
& then the film started… this is just going to be a continuation of the last cinema club review for this film if im honest. Want to read that its available here. https://popcornforone.co.uk/cinema-club/cinema-club-mary-poppins-returns/
Well originally i said this film would be a grower when i saw this back at christmas. Oh yes it is. This was only the second time i had seen this film & i was humming & singing along to all the songs, so its going to become a classic. Its really going to be one that lasts forever & the new generation will adore it.
I still cried, not when she came out the sky tho, but during the lost things & its reprise when Ben got all upset. I think i always will cry at that & think of Grandpa.
I know i say this alot but when you know whats happening you look out for more even more all the little bits that first time you just go okay at now you go oh of course. Doors opening, shares, the wolf oh & just laughing when Chris O’dowd pops up.
Originally i said Emily Blunt was stunning, she still is & it is an ensemble film, however there are bits in the film when Lin-Manuel absolutely steals the show especially in the music hall hamilton inspired bit the cover isnt the book. Ita an amazing story. You get to the end of that & go oh wow.
We also want to know how many lamplighter are in that borough of london. Thats an awful lot of people to light lamps & turn them off.
Also Julie Walters is just amazing too.
Its a bloody good film for everyone enjoy it. Seriously watch in on dvd or your streaming or cinema service you wont regret it at all.
