Hmmm this wasn’t my plan at all for tonight no way noway Pepe. But here I am…
My original plan had been to go & watch early man at 6:30 after having dinner & then going to see the Maze Runner but nah it’s not to be. The odeon cancelled the showing of it. What the hell
I want to print off my tickets for the evening & it gave me maze runner but no early man, so i put it in again & it said seek assistance. So went to the ladies behind the kiosk for sweets & they said it had been cancelled, but there was no reason on their system as to why. not one. So then they said do you want to see something else, issue is have seen them all. So they said ah go watch this then leave just before the end to get to the Maze Runner on time which is at the polar opposite end of the cinema. Well im here yea lets do that. Then my limitless card wouldnt work so they had to go get a more senior person to sort it out, as i already had a ticket booked for that time a ticket that didnt exists.
So id like to thank the three ladies who helped me out but i would still like an explanation as to why the film was cancelled & i wasnt informed. Odeon havent told me at all so, im still a bit pissed at that. Not even an email to me in advance going oh sorry. Imagine if i had paid & that was my only film for the night, would have properly kicked off.
Its all okay though i can see Early Man on friday at 5pm(in theory).
So i then got to screen 7 just as the trailer for red sparrow was ending. There was about 7 people in the cinema for the special screening. What i had hear or seen about this film so far i didnt have my hopes up for it & now was even less so.
So the film started. Now you know i love a heist film i go one about that quite a bit, this wasnt a very good heist film unfortunately, its let the genre down a bit this.
GEEEEERRRRRRRRRAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRDDDDDDDDDDDDDD BUTLER is losing his movie Mojo a bit at the moment, hes not had a good film in a little while. Not a solid one anyhow little bit disappointing. He was just playing an exaggerated sleazy version of all his best characters put into one as a police man.
Noones story was convincing or played someone that you wanted to root for. I wasnt emotionally involved in it, the way i wanted to be.
It jumped around at all the wrong places & then went to lineal & then jumped again. It was a bit off a mess, random text too, didnt get that.
The twist at the end was good though didnt see that coming at all. That makes the film bearable, & probably will make me watch it again, in hindsight as to what really happened.
I did leave about 3 minutes before the end though Maze Runner is about to start, so once i saw it was wrapping up & the twist i left.
Shame really, i had a blank can-verse to go on & only one preconception, but this was the one heist film that didnt actually pull it off. Had potential but just didnt go for it. Shame.
